Labour Party criticising the Tories.

What point are you making?
The point I’m making is that the real issue is that there is no proper functional fair system that allows real asylum seekers a chance to settle here in the UK. Rather than raise that as the issue that needs addressing they fall for the dog whistle politics as the Tories have done.

The system exists already

The purpose is to quickly and efficiently deal with asylum seekers while upholding their human rights. Those that pass should be welcomed and assisted in their new life in the Uk, those that fail should be denied and sent back as soon as possible.
Give genuine asylum seekers no reason to travel here on small boats. We can then tackle the small issue of folk we haven’t a clue about entering the country claiming asylum. Then and only then should we take a firmer stand against them.
Bit like these 15 minute cities. Put the infrastructure in place for good cheap public transport so people have a real alternative to using their own vehicles. So we don’t need to lock folk down in their own towns.
But the old left and right guard are both too arrogant or ignorant to take a step back and look for real alternatives to the issues, and definitely too stupid to realise that any new laws that come into effect could be used against them or their children once those laws are in place.

Sent back to where and how?

Sent back to where and how?
Jesus I’m not making the rules up. I don’t care, their last port of call, Rwanda, the Antarctic, don’t matter to me. As long as the genuine ones are processed in a timely fashion and given the help they need. At the moment we have folk who we know fuck all about and wandering about in our communities with many of the locals unhappy and genuinely worried about their children which are not being addressed.

I don't disagree at all.

Your thread title is Labour criticising the Tories.

Isn’t that their job to kick off at everything the Tories do?

Well if you check Starmers track record he’s backed the Tories or told his bunch to abstain from a number policies introduced by the Tories. I certainly don’t expect them to follow the dog whistle politics of this disgusting government. I would have hoped they were deeper, even with Starmer at the helm.

What policies do you want Labour to pursue please?

Nationalise top 100 industries. Along with all utilities and public services.
Good social housing policy.
Make all NHS services not for profit employing top managers on top wages to manage it properly.
Close tax loop holes.
That’s just a few off the top of my head.
Prosecute all those that scammed the public purse for billions during the covid plandemic sanction all their gains to retrieve the money to fund some of the above.
Good start.
