Thomas will make a decent career out of it for sure. It’s a hell of a lot harder to bring a player from the youth team into the Premier League than The Championship, and even hard we when that team has aspirations of European football.

Myself & the youngest got in the ground at villa last week earlier than usual & watched the team warm up. Noticed he was doing alot of fitness work on his own, proper graft/ long sprints etc.

I think not having a very good, attacking, left footed left back has been a big problem for us. We have never replaced Chilwell, but we have now & look at the improvement in Barnes also. This lad could be a major signing for us

it shows you can find very good players without spending Chelsea type money. If we can get a few more like him and Faes for that type of price in the summer, we’ll be good.
Will probably look like Thomas now does after a year or two of elite coaching...

Here's what he does that feeds on to others.
when he's after a guy he doesn't stop if he moves out of his area of patrol, he sticks to him like glue until he's tackled him or the guy has passed the ball. he ended up on the right side of midfield one time after following a player with the ball.
that is simple but so very effective for pressing the ball and closing down options.

Deffo got a great attitude (allied to a fair amount of footballing talent) - after the unfortunate ricochet off him that led to their crappy goal he had a momentary “oh fuck it” moment and then ran to grab the ball out of the net to get the game going again. I like the cut of his jib squire!
