Think you can prognosticate like Nostradamus, Mark Lawrenson, Russell Grant, Eva Petulengro or glosfox? If so, here's your opportunity to demonstrate your predicting prowess by entering my end of season compo. Each week you will need to forecast the results of the five teams that are fighting to avoid being one of the two who will be joining Sheffield Wednesday next season at the likes of Barnsley, Mansfield Town and Bromley. It's all to play for with loads of unpredictable(!) outcomes ahead.

Scoring will be as per the inestimable Sgt Wilko's long-running Bentleys compo i.e. 3 points for a spot on score, 1 point for a correct score. Each week, after the results are in, I'll produce a league table and post the fixtures for the following round of games.

As a tie-breaker everyone also needs to forecast the order of the final positions of the five teams from positions 19 to 23. This must be done no later than Week 2 of the compo. 5 points will be awarded for each team you get in its correct final position with a 10 point Brucey bonus if all are correct.

First Prize: £30. Second Prize £10. Third Prize £5. "Jesus Christ! Come on down!".

Current League standings:

19th Portsmouth P 36 GD -11 Pts 40
20th Blackburn Rovers P 37 GD -14 Pts 39
21st LCFC P 37 GD -7 Pts 38
22nd Oxford United P 37 GD -13 Pts 38
23rd West Brom P 37 GD -18 pts 37

Week 1 fixtures:

Sat. 14/3 12.30 1. Oxford v Charlton
15.00 2. LCFC v QPR
" 3. Millwall v Blackburn
" 4. West Brom v Hull
Mon. 16/3 20.00 5. Portsmouth v Derby

Just write your scores in this thread in number order or whichever format suits you best. Similarly for the league positions 19 to 23 (no later than the end of Week 2 remember). I hope that's clear.

Roll up brothers and sisters! Bragging rights throughout the close season and eternal kudos can be yours!

Keep smiling y'all,
