Goalkeeping hasn't changed a lot over the years apart from not picking up a back pass
So if smaller keepers were good enough then why not now

Sorry, but he’s not world class. He’s a good shot-stopper, but he does not dominate his box and his distribution is terrible. Watch a few old videos of Peter Shilton - that’s world class!
