Does anyone really care what Bridgen said 5 years ago, he has lost all semblance of credibility some time ago and is not even a member of the Conservative party.
I was unaware that he's said this and am equally unaware that it had been denied

More to do with the fact that Brexiters have/are denying any mention of Ireland leaving the EU now or in the past. Bridgen was a pretty big beast amongst the ERG when he made this claim.

The ERG nutjobs made wild claims about brexit, none of which have panned out.
We should be reminding people on a regular basis how they repeatedly lied so we don't make the same mistake in the future.
 
So do you think that his claims about Ireland influenced anyone's decision about Brexit?

I have to admit I didn't know he'd said this and I don't remember hearing anyone deny it
