Very quickly they could fall away from the current 'elite'.
 
it's simple maths. the big spenders spend big because they know clubs with less will not be able to compete or go into serious debt and crash trying to keep up with the jones's
that's why ffp is such a boon for the bcc clubs, it keeps the riff raff out of their mini league, and they can concentrate on killing off the others in that group one by one with a big spend here and there.
it's an unsustainable model for true competition.
