It fucking hurts, but….

If you’d have said to me 10 years ago we’d perform the greatest of great escapes, win the league and I’d be stood in H1 with strangers who have become friends over the years with tears in my eyes, as Andrea Bocelli serenaded us with Nessus dorma and time to say good bye, a song very close to my heart, make it to the quarter final of the champions league at our very first attempt, win the FA cup (at fucking long last!!), play in Europe in consecutive seasons, and reach a first European semi final, breaking records along the way with the biggest away win in English top flight history, the oldest premier league golden boot winner and Vardy’s 11 in a row. See players wearing the royal blue of the calibre of Riyad Mahrez, Esteban Cambiasso, N’Golo Kante, Kasper Schmeichel, the grit and determination of players like Wes Morgan, the story of Andy King; the only player in English football history to win the top 3 divisions with the same club, and the utter legend that is Jamie Vardy amongst many many others, then get relegated miserably I think I’d have took it.

But fucking hell it hurts

I’ll be there next season as I’d imagine most of the fans on here will be too, and at least I might be able to get my lad a ticket finally, but that is scant consolation compared to how dreadful this season has been.

The custodians of our great club have fucked it up in ways I couldn’t have imagined given the last 13 years under KP ownership. As fans we were there in league one, we were there in Sevilla, and we’ll be there when we end up wherever we end up in the medium term future.

Although I’m angry and bitter, it’s been one hell of a ride.

I am not so confident that' most ' will be back next season.
When the team kicks off the 23-24 season I'd expect it to be unrecognisable to the current one.
It's back to B&M's for our recruitment, and what with the cost of living it's not going to be such a difficult decision to walk away from it all.
Most of us have probably had enough of this depressing demise, so at least there will be the benefits of not having so many weekends ruined for us by the club.

Part of the problem is we've already been shopping at B&Ms.
We've flooded the squad with mediocre players when buying 2-3 quality players was probably what was really needed.
It's be said before but bringing these players in hasn't added to the squad ... it's dragged it down to a level of inadequacy -
Vestagaarde, Bertrand, Kristiansen, Faes, Souttar, Tete, Soumare, Daka. They are not up to it
The only player in the last couple of years that looked like an addition to the squad was Lookman and he blew hot and cold but at least you could see when he was on it he could play.

I’m about done with it. Covid has changed my opinion of the whole schlep up to Leicester or wherever each week. I’ve other things occupying my life now, music mainly and being honest I really enjoyed my two days down at Grace Road.

The club pushing ahead with mobile tickets doesn’t work for me. And all this talk of Semper and others being banned for trivial things.

The club and the fans are so far apart at the minute that I can’t be bothered with it all. I’ll leave it to the young uns I think.

The decision will be made quite late in before the renewals period closes. The only thing I’ll miss is the level of priority I've built up for away games and that’s giving me something to think about.

If it makes you feel any better Daggers, I would not worry too much about away tickets, at least in the short term. Leaving aside there will be more tickets available at away grounds, the demand from our fans will simply not be there. And there will be less of the PL time swapping, although there is still some of it in the Championship. Ironically the issue with losing your away points arises if they were to get back quickly to the PL. Which at the moment looks unlikely.

And as someone who is rarely home before 2100 after a 1500 ko, I can understand where you are coming from.

One good thing is that folk who have posted on here about not being able to get tickets will have their prayers answered.

Well, after over 30 years with 2, then 4 and now back to 2 season tickets, i won't be renewing next season.
Lost motivation after the covid lay-off, and then my son having the tickets taken off him when he came down with his mate to see a game - i couldn't be arsed to go down to the ground to get them back!
Add in the 2 hours minimum each way drive, midweek odd days for games, late kick-offs for TV etc and i figure my blood [pressure needs a rest.
I doubt the itch to return will be back soon as the last game i dragged my arse to was the Newcastle debacle, when i showed up but the team didn't.
Oh well, there were some good times but it's time to retire from the heartache for me

That's really sad Hezzy, I live 5 miles and it's been a fucking grind for me getting here this season. Up The City

TF Jnr's mates have all started to go to Notts County with cheap tickets, cheap train up the road and a bit of independence for themselves.

It's gonna be bloody hard to convince him to have an ST next season, he was 6 months old when we went down to League One, he literally has seen nothing but success for Leicester City.

my lad was born in summer 09 just after promotion back to the Championship so he’s seen nothing but good times, it’s painful seeing how much this season has damaged him and his love for the club. Although I have warned him many times that it’s Leicester, the good times don’t last forever and to enjoy the them while they do, he’s now seeing what I meant.

Football is a habit, once you lose it it's gone forever

I'm really sorry you feel this way but I don't blame you, I started going to watch non league a few years back and it gives me the fix I need

I watched us on the telly last night and couldn't even be bothered to get pissed off, even when they told the fans to sit down

Modern football is rubbish

Regarding the moving of dates and stupid KO times, don't expect it to be much better in the Champoinship, I understand Sky have the TV rights from 24/5 season...

l can't accept that oks to have some success, then say "we punched above our weight and should be thankful".

You get success because you deserve it, and if you don't work hard you get none.

We should do everything in our ability to win 2 games, but we won't because we are fucking losers.

Gutless and they used to call us "Fearless". They should hang their heads in shame, all of them.

It made my blood boil when the players were trotting out onto the pitch with that ' foxes never quit ' sign above their heads.
What a joke, that's exactly what they have done virtually all season.

Yes it fucking hurts. I actually believed we could still do it until the team was announced at 7pm last night. Then all my hope drained away.

Maybe I was just in denial all along. The way I'm feeling right now, I may soon be in de Thames with stones in my pockets....

It’s been an amazing ride. Quite quite staggering. I wouldn’t have changed it for the world. The envy of the whole country and probably the world.
My problem next season is that a lot of home games will be on Tuesday nights. Like many others on here it’s a 2hr+ drive each way as the trains that late don’t work for me. Even on a Saturday it’s an 10-11hr day taking 2 trains and the Tube on my own.
But I’ll be renewing as even if I only go to half the games it’s worth sitting in my own seat next to Mr&Mrs Wints rather than a bunch of randoms.
Last night I literally couldn’t be bothered. I was still fuming after Fulham and like Clapham, realised we’d 100% lose when I saw the team. ( it was 98% before!!)
I’ve been to more home and away matches this season than I have for a very very long time. But it’s been bloody hard.

The club has been run into the ground in such a short time. Top is to blame ultimately as he has the purse strings but many many people have literally mugged him for a lot of money. Rudkin Rodgers, Pieman Toure, the defence coaches, and an awful lot of players to name just some. Pretty much all of the club have totally taken the piss. I hate people being taken for a ride and when Top realises soon just by how much, he may just decide enough is enough and sell up

Pretty much the same for me.Will be moving up to nortumberland in the not too distant, but will allways support the club and would like to keep the seats we have been in for the last 20 years! I'll try and go to as many home matches as possible and as you say we have made some great friends down there!

Not manypepple are thankful for arthritis but this Seaon my struggles pale into.insignificance watching well paid players perform like they have
