I suppose it shows he wants to be a winner.
Just think this is the classic case of a player being away from the squad for some time and us all hoping he's the answer to all our problems.

We can have a number of kids also in the squad.

Who’s to say Slimane wouldn’t have the season of his life, step up and prove his worth to us? If he’s crap then don’t include him on the bench or don’t bring him on.
 
Talk of him not getting on with the other players, does anyone know if homework is done on a players attitude and if he'll fit in with the current squad before signing them?

I would think this is a big part of signing a player or do they just look purely at the players ability?

Say with the Under signing I guess they would ask Soyuncu what he's like as person etc? do they ask other players whos paths may have crossed with potential signings what they are like.

I read about an unamed premier league club that signed a player without realising he had learning difficulties which stopped him learning English and so he never really gelled with the squad and they sold him at a big loss.
 
Not sure that I'd agree with you, sooner we binned him off and got someone else in. Josh King is available for about £10m apparently.

Under NFP a lot of research went into whether or not a player would fit in with the ethos and personnel of the squad.
Can't imagine that would have changed, hence us having groups of Belgians, Turks and now French speakers.
 
Can't remember the last time I read an article about transfers and recruitment, without everyone involved stressing just how much effort is spent assessing players' character and 'fit' with the existing squad. Must be some exceptions though....
 
It was widely reported that Leo was signed on the back of Morgan saying he was the most dangerous forward faced in the promotion year. It does annoy me when I read that Vardy's approval is needed before we sign someone. Esteban, anyone ? I believe we did not give Kramaric a proper opportunity, he is now an established international banging them in. I feel the same about Slim, but he needs to have decent service to make the best of his strengths in the air. We should not let him go without having had another chance. This is only happening because of the inconsistency / general uselessness of Perez, Nacho and Gray.
 
I am a big romantic and am convinced Slimani will score goals if brought back into the fold.... and we all say to ourselves "sorry I doubted him"

I'd rate Iheanacho above Slimani, probably Perez as well.

Do you not think it strange that he's gone out on loan, banged some goals in, and yet nobody wants to sign him?

Gray not in either. It looks like he's being frozen out while he runs down his contract. A sad end to an inauspicious career with us.
 
May manage to offload him in January to a team fighting relegation, they'd probably have to offer some kind of bonus should he keep them up to offset any increased signing on fee had he let his contract run down.
Surprised that nobody seems to have shown any kind of interest in him though. Wasn't that long ago Bournemouth were allegedly offering £25m for him.
 
Bit surprising to see Wilf included; suggests they hope to rush him back after 11 weeks out for the final group game

gray must be off somewhere. you'd surely include him in the squad if he was with us until xmas, even if only to make up the numbers. there's only 24 names listed, and we're allowed 25.
 
Danny Simpson has posted on his instagram him and Slimani having a laugh at the training ground today, Perhaps it's like any workplace and some people get on with each other more than others?

I can't see Gray agreeing to go to a Championship club, and I don't think he can sign for another Premier League team or a foreign club until January. He'll either go on the (very) cheap in January or for a free next summer.
 
Yes and European clubs can still sign our players so still hope we can offload Slim abroad, somehow doubt that Gray will be headong abroad though.
