Is Maddison finished?

Because that's 17 games now no goals no assist and frankly another below par performance.

Lookman asked far more questions, had loads more initiative and actually ran at the Brighton defence which had them on the back foot and generally offered more creativity than Maddison has done all season.

Lookman deserves to keep his place over Maddison for Burnley at home. Otherwise something is very wrong.

Yes must be a double whammy when his Mrs bollocked him for buying that flash Lamborghini. Everyone knows you cannot fit all the baby clobber in one of those.

Mrs Soho reckons having a new baby a few weeks ago could be a big reason for his decline.
Might go along with that if his shit performances went along the same timeline as the new born turning up. Trouble is it doesn’t.
Have a look at the start of the highlights on motd2, it shows them taking a knee.
Maddison couldn’t look more uncomfortable. His hip problem is clearly a huge huge problem.

Things for Maddison to buy
- A Renault Scenic people carrier, sage green, 52 reg
- A Morrison’s shopping bag, 10p, that you can’t see through
- A pair of BBC Zooma football boots, with 53 pimply studs on each. The first time I put those on at the rec, I was like a twinkle-toed Alan Tewley
- pro-shot golf, with interchangeable club heads. So you stay home.
- time to think. You had the world at your feet. Don’t fuck it up, lad.

I have no idea of Maddison's life outside of game time. It is pretty obvious that he is well off the pace, whether that is injury, new baby or something else. Right now he does not deserve a place on the bench, let alone in the starting eleven.

What he needs is a visit from Jim Bowen with a big picture of Jack Grealish in the England team line up.

"Here's what you could have won"...

I saw that. There’s clearly something they’re hiding from us. I also think BR is trying not to crush his confidence. But he’s not even 20% the player he was. I noticed yesterday there were a lot of safe passes, mostly backwards. Brighton bizarrely gave us quite a bit of room in midfield especially at the beginning which he didn’t exploit

JM clearly needs taking out of the firing line as something is not right.
Whatever it is needs sorting as his usual enthusiasm for the game has gone.
As for references to Grealish, they are fatuous as he is a different player in a different position and more comparable with Barnesie and I know who I prefer...

Don't think he would see it Dorset too embroiled in his own mindset
Another one who can't see the wood for the trees, but It really is heart breaking to see talent wasted on immaturity

In the last few years, Maddison, Ali and Barkley were all playing for England.
I cannot see any of them making it into Southgates plans in the near future.
3 talented players going backwards.

according to an Athletic article last week: maddison, barkley and chilwell are in a long standing whatsapp group called "the avengers".
which shouldn't be relevant to anything, but it does seem like their careers share similarities.
