I see the proddies and the left footers are marching together against mass immigration.

Interesting.

Well they did it last August during the riots, so it shouldn't be that much of a surprise.
Irish News columnist Brian Feeney "“It is depressing that the only thing they can co-operate on is hate-filled racist demonstrations.”

Have you seen whats happening in Ireland? Much the same as here. Thing is, the Paddies arent as used to it as us. If no one listens to your concerns, what do you do?

Ireland is an island that has been populated by waves of immigration for thousands of years.
The DNA of the "Irish" shows origins in The Steppe region, the Middle East, Central Europe and Northern Spain - as well as many others.
It's fascinating that Celtic and Viking heritage is celebrated in Ireland, despite both being a result of mass immigration, or forced invasion.
They celebrate a "saint" who was an Englishman kidnapped and compelled into slavery by Irish pirates.
The green of the Irish flag, represents the green hue left from a snakebite, on a bloke who had a father from present day Iraq and a mother from Egypt.
The orange from some bloke from Holland, where the word orange was just a corrupted version of the word Arausio - a Celtic water god.
It's only history, so don't get upset...

i'm not making a comment on the politics of it, not going there, just saying they've done it before.

Tourist income down by 26%

I guess that the 'Magic' of Dublin has been tarnished somewhat by recent cultural imports

Don't forget 'Diversity is Our Strength'

Another factor to consider is the Irish diaspora has been returning home for years now, last year 30k of them went back to live there as is their right. Added to other immigrants especially Ukrainian refugees (since 2022 there's been over 100k arrive) and it's put a strain on the system, so maybe somebody didn't do their maths correctly.

I'm no expert in Ireland but they seem very closely aligned to Canada where the leftist leaders are moving the country at a pace and in a direction that most of the inhabitants don't want. As a catholic country the stuff around the definition of the family was a bit beyond the pale and it looks generally like there's trouble coming, but then again it feels like that here.

Wasn't there a Referendum last year, where the Irish public rejected two proposals concerning family life and relationship definitions.
That was across all demographics.
The hold by Catholicism on the Republic is on the wane.

69% Catholic (fallen nearly 20% in 20 years)
Church attendance down from 91% to 30%.
In 2010 (note sure now), 10% of people who identified as Catholic, did not believe in God...
15% No religion

However, Ireland like every other country, has a sizeable socially conservative population.

Some of you are over thinking. Its very simple. Their country , like ours and most of Europe is changing at breakneck speed. Its costing them their heritage as well as their tax euro’s. Throw in a big rise in crime, and it isnt difficult to see why the Huns and the Provo’s are prepared to kiss and make up.
