Ireland V France

With a team full of nobody's from various divisions they were very unlucky not to come away with at least a draw, in what was an entertaining game.
If it wasn't for a super strike, and two brilliant saves France would have been undone.
Not the boring drivel served up for us,and with Southgate not looking outside the prem for players, this game showed what can be done with players that work hard and be direct.

Southgate won't look outside the prem for players, he made a statement when installed that he would also said if you don't play regularly for your team you won't play for England.
Both statements he hasn't lived up too.
Both Italy, and the Ukraine were poor teams.
But just saying how good Ireland were last night from a team of nobodies, against a french team that blew away the dutch

Play a team full of nobodies from various divisions and you have two choices. You either defend and try to frustrate and get a point, or three with a break, or you have a go.

The modern way is shit but play a decent team and it’s about playing the right way and the chances will come.

England bored the pants off me for the 1st 20-30 mins against Ukraine. It doesn't help when players like Maguire virtually stop the game when in possession. In general Maguire didn't have a bad game but it's easy to see why the Man United fans are on his back. England have a good team with some very decent attacking players, but you always have massive question marks with players like Maguire in your team. Hate to say it but in this day and age you need a Fofana type player who is agile and not rooted to the pitch.
