My dad began at BTH in the 30s, and went through at least AEI and Marconi during his 47 years – and probably other iterations too. His pension ended up as BAE.Me mam worked there early 70's, I still refer to it as the AEI and before that think it was the BTH... someone will know.
Christmas lights were very good up and till the power cuts in the 70's, never as good after that.
Our very first stereo unit came from the staff shop, thought it was great at the time.

A well known Street back in the day for Lambretta owners , Pete Oakleys Lambretta dealership on the corner with Melton Rd. Spent many happy hours and pounds in there....now a hairdressers or something like that.Elder sister lived in Stafford Street. Christmas night tradition to walk up there and see the lights.
