Heart Attacks at games

"A picture of sartorial elegance!"
My Mrs has just said is it because fans have not been for so long they are not used to the stress?

Nah! Its because all these old caants can't lay off the faacking pies, frankfurter hot-dogs and greasy burgers.

They've always happened. The difference is that this season they have to stop the game for them. New rule.
they've not, only occasionally. now its half the games. In the past when someone collapsed it would be the talk for a few games, and people would. be concerned.

Might have misheard but I'm sure the commentators said they were told it wasn't a heart attack.

Do you not find it odd that they felt that they had to say "it wasn't an heart attack" ?

They don't do it normally.

"normally"? in terms of stopping the game every time a fan has a medical issue, none of it is normal.

but if they've said something that turns out to not be correct, yes i'd expect them to correct it.
and yes, i get the point you are making.

I’ve never known all these games stopped from people dropping in the no stands before like this.

It’s because the rules have changed. Now they have to stop the game - previously they didn’t have to. It was brought in during the summer.
it didn't happen except once in a blue moon. Someone collapsed and died in the East stand a couple of years ago and it was on all the forums and Facebook, now its "normal" no it isn't. We've all been going football for Donkeys' and this is extremely unusual. If you say not, then thats your view, mine is different. Opinions !

I’m not really expressing an opinion about the frequency of medical emergencies - merely pointing out the rule change for anybody who is unaware of it.

Its not just spectators collapsing either, theres been no end of players collapsing (Aguero for one) and some dying. And its not just confined to football either. Rugby, tennis, basketball have all seen this happening over the last year.
I have been wondering about this, too, but approaching this as objectively as possible without any preconceived ideas isn't easy at all.

I have, in fact, been worried about players collapsing for years. Marc-Vivien Foe and many others, even Leicester City had an issue with Clive Clarke in 2008 or so. Is it now more than before, or is there simply an increase in reporting it?

If it's indeed happening at a higher frequency, you have to find a common denominator. There was an extensive list in a German newspaper on football-related persons but that also included a number of coaches which are, of course, much older on average.

Then you may have to turn to what's been going on over the past couple of years and seek for answers there...

The players that you mention happened a long time ago, on the frequency of someone dying from a bee sting. What's happening now since the jab has never been seen before, 108 Fifa registered players dead within this year alone. Forget the common denominator and research the facts.

These were just the names that I immediately remembered. There were several others over the years, and perhaps more that we've never heard about. It's not that rare.

I know there is the hypothesis that it's related to the vaccines but you (I mean not you personally) still need to prove that that's really the case. It's possible that some of those players (edited to say if the number you quoted is correct at all - I mentioned an article above which listed several coaches as well) had Covid-19, of which we know that it's a vascular disease that can mess about in all sorts of parts of your body.

Look, I'm not here to prove anything. I'm not fully convinced about the vaccination either, and I got one shot only very late (i.e. in September) after a very lengthy and difficult deliberation and without full conviction. All I'm advising is caution and an impartial view.

I know two otherwise healthy people in their 40’s who have had heart issues recently (post jab)brought on by an irregularity with processing cholesterol.

I've been lucky enough to collapse at a game and was helped to the medic place under the East stand.
Loads of blokes in there like me just drunk, before the vax thing though.
