Guardian: Fofana requests transfer

This is shite for us, nobody coming in whilst your best assets want away.
All adds to a feeling that the rot is setting in.
Selling Fofana now is not good for us imo.
The ship as sailed regarding replacements. We will end up bringing in someone who plugs the position, but does not maintain the standard of the current incumbent. The slippery slope is well oiled...

We may not be able to request a 50% sell on fee but could we not ask for 20% ? Serious question as that is what his previous club is alleged to have. By an aside a posh fan I work with(we all have crosses to bear) was telling me of the windfalls from ivan toney, playin in prem x£s scoring goals in prem x£s staying in prem x£s 1st england call up x £s sell on to bigger club x£s and I couldnt help wondering why the fxxk dont we do this!

Sounds like the difference between a tough first-rate negotiator and an over-promoted youth coach? ;)

Just on sell on %s

isn't the normal thing for it to be a % of profit, not of fee. In which case we're unlikely to get much from it, especially if we do manage to sell him for close to a world record fee.

If they pay £80mill there wont be any sell-on clause. We need to rape them now cos we are fucking desperate. Take the cash and run - and build again (but without Rodgers).
As if we needed confirmation of what pen4 is really like.

I don't think Oadlad has ever compared the sale of a footballer to rape.
That's why I included "I think". I'm sorry if it wasn't him, but I'd narrowed it down to either you, him, Mistryman or one of maybe two or three others that used the same delightful term a couple of weeks ago in a thread I was looking at – and ignored me picking up on it.
But then I guess whoever it was – and Pen4 – will simply point us sensitive souls towards the dictionary's second definition, meaning wanton destruction...

A footballer being transferred is hardly wanton destruction either, so whoever used the term is wildly inaccurate.
