So, the students can piss it up, the ravers, rave, and I can't get out with a few mates, keeping our distance in the fresh air whacking the golf ball about.
In the meantime, you are encouraged to get out to play croquet, polo and the Eton wall game, or you can travel a couple of hundred miles to your second abode for an appointment with your medical man.

I don't get it. You don't even touch the flag ATM so it's just a nice walk hitting your own little ball around. How is that not totally safe ?

Syd, went out yesterday for the final 18 for some time. Come the spring we need to have another Bentley’s trophy.

Just had my last 18 holes too..lovely out there in the fresh air, and in beautiful countryside, safe as can be ! Shot 34 points in a QC so well happy. What a great sporting week so far !!!

One doesn't want to say anything overtly political lest the thread gets moved...but if ever there was an example of utterly flawed thinking where a pastime/sport helps the economy (by paying salaries, keeping people employed...and in my case, paying ball manufacturers to replace all those that had an almost magnetic desire for water or forest) whilst also helping keep people fit and active (physically & mentally) but not placing anyone at any particular risk...then it is in suspending things like golf.

Went out today Stam, had a good day, and yes, that is a great idea for a game in the spring, as the last time we made a bit of cash for MacMillan Nurses, I think.
Hope you and the family are keeping well Stam, any more additions?

Christ No Syd! I discovered what caused it last time! Been a while since you last saw mini-Stam. She’s now got her own clubs. Last week she sank a fifteen footer to beat me in a little putting competition and then proceeded to sink a hole in one on the seventy yard pitch and putt.
Are you still a member at BP? Was looking at there for next year.

Bet she is not so mini now, good girl, I bet she loved that, twelve of us left burghley two years ago and joined Greetham Valley, absolutely love it there, when we start again i'll contact you and give you a game up there.

Sounds an excellent idea. I’ve been playing Rutland Water a lot this year having just upgraded to a set of Ping irons and Titleist woods.

I went out for a last round in the sun yesterday. Course was absolutely heaving. I have actually been playing a bit too much of late and am glad of the excuse for a few weeks off to let my poor old body recover.
i might also use the time to try and work out how this daft new handicap system works. Whist most of the people I know have gone up a couple of shots, I get cut because it ignores my scores for the last 18 months because they are too high!
