Get Carter….

I recently read the book "Jack's Return Home" by Ted Lewis - on which the film is based.
Its interesting to see where there are differences between the book and the film.

Agreed.
I feel like a right twat now for not having even seen the film before running down those steps on my second day as a student up there in '83. At least I put that right the following day!
My Mum was a Geordie and I remember visiting family on Tyneside as a youngster in 60s and 70s. The shootout scene was on the ferry that took workers and others up and down the river. I enjoyed the trip more than once. Luckily Jack Carter wasn't there! My grandad and uncle were welders on the shipyards. My uncle was a big Sunderland fan rather than Newcastle. There is quite a few Sunderland fans on south Tyneside. Steve Cram for example. By the way does anybody remember his uncle Bobby Cram that played for West Brom?
