My condolences to all concerned horrified to read it was a Saudi doctor 2 dead including a child what minds do human beings have to do this beats me

Reuters: Saudi Arabia warned German authorities about attacker's 'extremist views'

A Saudi source told Reuters that Saudi Arabia had warned German authorities about the attacker after he posted extremist views on his personal X account that threatened peace and security.

Some German media pointed to the suspect’s past social media posts in which he reportedly expressed views critical of Islam and had even warned of the “dangers” of an Islamisation of Germany.

German authorities are investigating a Saudi doctor, arrested as the suspected driver of the car, with Der Spiegel magazine reporting he had sympathies with the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.

Suspect received asylum despite having criminal record​

Taleb Jawad al-Abdulmohsen was granted asylum in Germany in 2016 based on a claim that he would face persecution on religious grounds in his home country of Saudi Arabia.

But he already had a criminal conviction at the time. In 2013 a German court sentenced him to a fine a public order offence. He had “threatened to carry out crimes,” according to a record of the trial seen by Der Spiegel.

The level of the fine - €900 - suggests that he was living of state welfare at the time, the news outlet reports.

He originally came to Germany in 2006 to study medicine.
