We didn’t just set out to have every player in our own half defending, we went full on league 2 side coming to a premier league side in the cup. Everyone defending from inside the final 3rd of the pitch & the game was still finished after 25 minutes.
Thank god they decided to just go through the motions after that.

you forget, smith had a free hit, so he brought on subs early so he had plenty of time to see them in action in a real game.
smart move if you ask me, because he might sort the wheat from chaff in time to put out a good starting 11.
as far as i'm concerned Praet should be in for kdh, and Mendy for wilf next match.

Totally agree regarding praet & mendy, but I’m afraid we are way way past free hit territory.
Trouble is Rodgers negative mindset on these players with free hit/ clubs being the equivalent of a Ferrari messages have made some players think exactly the same.
