Brauny

The optimistic pessimist
Anyone tried the House of Baiklyn on Church Gate ?
I just walked from Maggie's bus station and went past this eaterie as soon as I turned onto Church Gate.
It's an Indo-Arabic place that's got a 5 star rating from 86 reviews on Google.
Got to say that the occupied table near the window I past looked full of delicious meals.
So much so I had to go past a second time for a sneak peak.
Comments were very complimentary regarding Biryani's and other rice dishes with the authentic flavours and friendliness of service.
The chicken and lamb Mandi was also highly praised as well as the grilled fish.

Hey Brauny, I’m no help with your ‘Baiklyn’ cuisine experience. But what caught my eye was the mention of the walk from ‘st maggies up church gate’ something that is probably shared with most on here and firmly etched into our shared adolescence.
But i don’t think I’ve done that walk for at least ten, and probably more like twenty years.
To me it will always be Greens jewellers (for ear piercings) Mays, Swiss Cottage , Brees Music , and later a ‘new’ branch of Bruciannis
I can’t imagine doing that walk now!
Have a good Christmas pal.

Sorry not seen this post until now.
Yes certainly Mays and the Swiss Cottage were part of my younger days.
Sadly like it's been mentioned it's a bit of shit hole in general.
Gig workers hanging around, beggars and unoccupied premises.
Not the Leicester I remember
