Great when Gil Scott-Heron sang it, even better in this version IMHO.

The story is that Esther was presented with the song, but initially refused it because she was in the grip of a heroin addiction at the time - unintentionally biographical.

Eventually she sang it, encouraged by Pee Wee Ellis (e- JBs), to "sing it like you mean it".

Hello Its Me-Isley Brothers
Casanova - Coffee
I Believe In Miracles - Jackson Sisters Without You - Nilsson
Now That We've Found Love - Third World
Since You've Been Gone - Rainbow

Nice mix of different takes on the originals and ones where the real pop beauty (Nilsson and Rainbow) gets brought out when it wasn't there originally.

Well bugger me,
I always assumed that Marc Cappani was the cover version of The Jackson Sisters.
Bentley's Roof always a mine of useful info'.
Both tremendous records.
