Everton

Do people actually know how much pressure they're under on the business side to stay in the PL?
They're in massive debt, they have a potential buyer/investor, and they need to build a new stadium, but the takeover will only go through if they stay up.
I seriously think they'll implode if they get relegated because they have a 150 million loan where relegation will trigger an automatic payment.
They're definitely in a worse position than us.
if we can sneak an early lead, the crowd might turn on them and it could get ugly very fast up there.

There’s truth in that. There will be huge pressure again on them to deliver.

Work has already begun on their new stadium.

Lots of people getting very desperate on here.

Everything starts with us actually winning on Sunday. These stupid takes on why Everton won't deliver a win ain't worth shit. We must win but we are also the most spineless side in the EPL at present. If we don't win we go down - the discussion should be 'reasons why we can win' first

They've been saving up one top-class performance that justifies their massive salaries? :)

One things for sure they'll be a few twists and turns during the games personally I think we're due for a bit of last day luck surely we've suffered enough lately

Not sure if any pressure on the corporate situation immediately transfers onto the pitch at Everton. Dyche will do well to keep such matters away from the squad and focus on the football.

So should we, in fact. It's by no means guaranteed that we win the game, so that should be our focus. I suppose that's also Dean Smith's prime objective as he cannot influence what's going on elsewhere, not even in our club.

People should be more worried by what Bournemouth turns up because imo the tense pre k.o. mood will disappear as the first half wears on.
I can honestly see the KP being flat as a pancake by half time. I think Everton will steamroller the Cherries.
Just my opinion, but I've looked at these last day fixtures from a few weeks out and I always thought that we needed to be in front of Everton to have any chance of staying ahead. Playing against a limited team who are on the beach is a perfect fixture for Everton.
Tottenham for all their spursy attributes still have quality players to get a result at Leeds.
Forest would of been the only one playing away had they still been involved. Palace on their own ground would of been capable of stopping Forest. We absolutely needed to keep it in our own hands.
That Fulham result and performance was always likely to leave us hoping that others fail, we can only blame our lot for letting that happen.
Two things that really grate on me was firstly the complete lack of fight against Fulham and in a game that was vital for our chances.
Secondly, seemingly accepting a point at Newcastle by just non stop desperately defending for 85 minutes. I'd sooner have seen us take a gamble on the 70 minute mark and go for the 3pts. At least you have less regrets if you go down fighting. Unfortunately because of that we will end this season wondering what might have been and if only we had shown some bottle

We are certainly due it but more likely it's 1-0 in the 96th minute, West Ham corner and it goes in off Wout Faes's arse ...

We'd of had less regret if Pope hadn't of saved timmys shot no matter how long we'd defended for

Of course, but to wait until the 92nd minute to have a shot that was easily saveable, was just not enough in a game where we have relinquished control of our destiny.

Not sure it was easily saveable but had it gone in it would of been a perfect game plan from Smith also if Everton draw on Sunday it would be a great call from him even without the goal, suppose I'm a glass half full guy 🤞for the right results on Sunday

If you watch it again you would have to conclude that had their goalkeeper let it in it would of been an horrendous mistake.
Smiths game plan worked until about the 70th minute. We had kept them out and by Geordie standards the crowd was subdued.
That was our chance, a chance to really change the relegation picture but we didn't grasp it.
You can't succeed in sport by being permanently cautious and if as many pundits of said that we have got talented players, then why did our management have no faith in it?
I still can't understand Iversen hanging on to the ball in injury time as if were winning, unbelievable.
We just didn't do enough when we had done the hard yards to give ourselves a chance.
I tell you, it will come back to haunt us by Sunday evening.

that one game is nothing, there are so many other examples in the season where we dropped points under bodgers and the caretakers.
JM scores that pen and it's in our hands, JM doesn't give away the ball with a dodgy pass it's in our hands, rodgers makes subs on a hot august day, it's in our hands etc etc etc.
He's given us a chance when we all thought we'd get stuffed.

Doesn't matter what happened previously.
We are dealing with the here and now. Yes over the course of the season you can point to many things, but we knew the circumstances going into the Newcastle game. In this game the stark fact was that only 3pts would give us control of the final game. Instead we seemingly played for second prize. That won't be good enough.
