England v Italy

I know a few that went and they said it was chaos. They were drunk by 1200 and apparently the smell of weed was overpowering plus lots openly snorting coke. The police plan got it badly wrong on the day.

l was there, didn't get in because of this after paying £2k for a ticket, l got my money back though. I would have jibbed in myself if l hadn't waited for my mate.

I was there. It was chaos down Wembley Way and in the stadium but I was in really early and knew nothing of the scenes outside.

With the flats all around it’s impossible to put a real ring of steel around the stadium.

There is weird stuff here. Louise Casey said that the events of Hillsborough weighed on her mind. Not quite sure why, unless she does not accept the established narrative that Hillsborough had nothing to do with ticketless drunken fans. What should have weighed on her mind was the invasion at Old Trafford a few months earlier, not something that happened 30 years ago.

Also her finding that the trouble was caused by 2000 "fans", when most contemporary accounts said it was far more than this. And ironic that she said it would have been worse if England had won, as the crowd outside tried to get in to join the celebrations.

A very sad day for anyone who loves the game and this country.

Nothing new here. Not saying it's right but its a modern style repeat of the 1923 cup final. I'm not ashamed to say that a younger version of myself would have tried to bunk in if I didn't have a ticket.

The stories of younger & disabled fans being targeted & shoved aside doesn’t exactly put the ‘jibbers’ in a good light.

Think we need to get away from the idea that it was just a laugh & Charlie Charles-types going “After you - no, after you” as they might’ve in 1923.

Jesus wept, that news story was bull shit. Stop believing the crap coming out of your tube and have a look at the real world. I take it you've been football for a few years now?

When as it ever been really bad, Heysel and Hillsborough ! if you honestly believe that there is the slightest of similarities then you should leave the drugs alone.

It was fuck all, i'm telling you ! they are just making a story those they can get paid or get some funds for doing fuck all.

Football for effeminate men! no place for them except on a message board

By the way, it was not chaos. It was football fans (remember them?) having a day out as we always do, having a booze and snort, being Leary with your mates, thats it and it was nothing unusual.

Thats how football always as been, why are you weird ones trying to say it all new and scary, its fucking normal. Stay away if its not for you, it's the vibe, perhaps you have never experienced it ?

It was good natured all day until the team or Southgate fucked it up.

Evidently touched a nerve.

Go Brandon.
not at all. Why on earth would you think that ? no one else would. Straw clutcher ?

You lot can not have been going football very long if you think that was chaos, l was there, it was a party ffs

and its "Fuck Joe Biden". (Lets Go Brandon)

I heard some quotes from the judge’s summation and it did sound like it was being blamed on drunken /drugged “thugs” rather than football supporters. It seems too easy to dismiss it as that. It was clearly organised by people who knew how to network and knew the weak spots to target, but “thugs”, on a day when people would probably pay a fortune to see their team in an international final seems to be totally the wrong intent. As Bnet says, “follow the money”.

There’s more of us that would’ve liked to have seen the country host another major tournament within the next 10 years.

But what you call a “party” put paid to that.

Well done - what a “rebel” you are.

I have to say I was there too and it was crazy busy up Wembley Way but it was all good natured. We had a beer each then headed into the stadium about 2 hours before kick off.

There were so many empty bottles and cans people had been there for a long time.

In the ground someone had taken my seat behind the goal low down so I stood in the aisle with others. For the second half I moved back and for extra time I went around the side but all aisles were full of people standing.

Did I ever feel unsafe? No not at all.

With hindsight it was inevitable some would try and get in without tickets. Many will have just joined the crowds once the outer security cordon had been breached and people were outside the turnstiles. Like others had said if I was there and without a ticket I may have tried myself.

no, not organised and yes plenty knew the weak spots and some of my mates who l wasn't with, from other clubs got in.

No, its football we're a different breed, stick with sanitised shit if you want too, but that little bit of edge is important.

If that’s the kind of small-minded shit that makes you feel like more of a man, you’ve got more problems than you realise.

So grateful I’m not your “breed”.

You don’t belong at football, it’s more than football. It’s all about things that you will never be part of or never understand not just football

.
The saying goes - those who know know those who don’t, don’t matter.

Thanks for reminding me to avoid you at the next game.
