Emma Raducano

I take no interest in tennis but I have seen bits and bobs of her interviews in the last few days and she seems to be a decent girl.

Mixed race, born in Canada but lived and educated in England from a very early age and still resident in Bromley. Very much a modern 'girl of the world' but very much brought up in the UK.

I have no problem with her identifying as british and none with her having affection for her fathers country of birth. In as much that I have any interest in the match, I wish her well.

First ever qualifier to win a grand slam. And not dropping a single set in the entire tournament. Mental. What a star.

For anyone that doesn’t understand tennis that’s the equivalent of us winning the PL. To win 10 matches and not dropping a set is crazy

Watching it in Kings Head with the guvnor and his bar staff.
Unbelievable achievement.
I know little about tennis but the standard from both players looked amazing.

I really don't go in for all the hype surrounding our new tennis sensation whilst forgetting our darlings of the centre court Virginia Wade and Sue Barker. It has to be remembered that 'Our Ginny' beat a man in the final of Wimbledon 1977 and a year earlier 'Wee Sue' won the French Open at the tender age of 13 by beating Roland Garros 2 sets to 1. I will admit though, three ladies' grand slams in the last 45 years is a truly remarkable achievement for a tiny country like ours whilst the men have won bugger all.

Poor Betty was a unit wasn’t she. I always thought as a kid that she had a very appropriate surname
