Drinkwater again

English midfielder Danny Drinkwater admits his Chelsea career has been a "shambles" after the 28-year-old made his debut for Reading in his fourth loan spell away from Stamford Bridge. (talkSPORT)

Chilwell risks ending up in the same sort of waiting room, only in his case he’s waiting for Marcos Alonso to retire.

The daft thing about Drinkwater was his wages only went up by 20% by moving as opposed to Chilwell who trebled his. Alonso is only 30 and Tuchel likes him a lot. Tuchel is doing a great job. I suspect BenCH Ilwell isn’t going to play for quite a time.

Chelsea. It seems to be something of a curse for City players, Drinkwater, then Chilwell, even Kante has become a bit part player.

Must be something in the water...

Kanté is no way a bit part player. He changed the game when he came on at HT on Sunday. He’s a true class act. The others I completely agree with.

Why is there this attitude to players who leave us to better themselves? Yes, some fail to make it work (except financially) but most do.
It is only something most of us do in life, and generally does not result in veiled suggestions of betrayal.
The facts are that the club needs to generate income from players leaving and it has been a profitable process lately and strengthened the club.
We are a middle order club which will always be seen as a stepping stone by the very talented and only how we trawl the likes of Championship clubs for emerging talent.

And was outstanding in the Champions League final.
He is still a fine player no question but he is hardly first name on the team sheet, which is what I was getting at.

Not the disaster that is Drinkwater or even Chilwell, but I doubt he would start in Tuchel's first choice starting line up.

Then again, with the resources Chelsea have, he doesn't have to start every game.

Instead of letting it get him down, he should have made the most of his retirement home and earning a fortune move to Chelsea, instead of bleating in the media about it all the time. He should be pinching himself every single day until the end of his contract over the fact that he even got that transfer. Financially alone, it was a gift from above. Remember, he wasn't getting a regular game here anymore when he left, and he had lost his place in the England squad. Wasn't all that long ago he was playing on loan at Barnsley for a living. Enjoy your life D.D. ..... If there was ever a case of Laughing all the way to the Bank.
