Did the loon make it across?

He might have gone too far at times, he might've been too quick to dish out a few insults, but I wonder how civilised many of us would be, after being brave enough to say what you think, only to be met by constant ridicule, a determination to not listen, a constant pile on, a constant blaming of all conflict upon yourself, and a constant denial that it might just take two to tango.

Saying it's civilised and calling someone a loon in the same breath. Ok, if that's what you want to do. I'm no angel myself. But just keep in mind that most of us specialise in conflict on the roof. We always have. Laying the blame on one person is pathetic.

You tend to get what you give on this board, he dished out loads of personal abuse that just wasn't called for and as soon as Daz gave him some of his own medicine he had a hissy fit and started threatening him, it is more civilised at the minute, if you read the posts on this forum people are disagreeing without resulting to childish pathetic insults, something he could never manage.

I used to like some of his posts, I agreed with a few things he said but as soon as anyone had a different opinion he turned into a 5 year old.

maybe its just the new surroundings, but it's certainly more cordial on here than it was last week on the old board.
 
The problem with debating this kind of stuff is that some folk can't conceive that their government only has their interests at heart and are doing what ultimately, is best for them. (Rino is a prime example on the old forum) and really you can't blame them thinking that way.
The other side have woken up and question everything, maybe a little too much at times. And never the twain shall meet.

The problem with debating this kind of stuff is that some folk can’t accept other people think differently to them and resort to childish insults and nastiness. They can’t debate anything because they refuse to see any other point of view. You can’t debate with someone who arrogantly thinks everything they say is right and everyone else is wrong.
Plenty of things are debated on here without it resorting to that, look at the Slimani thread some people think he’s worth taking a chance with others disagree and there’s no animosity.

That was always part of the problem. Look, I don't want to ruin things on here. It's clear that something has happened since the move. Something that I would never imagine might happen. But you're being one-eyed in this. The old place was full of people doing the left/right thing, and only sticking with whatever wing it was that they proudly identified with.
 
Perhaps more curious is that both Bnet & Dullard haven't appeared to make it across.

Despite denials, were they one & the same? I think some here actually met Bnet, so perhaps not?

Or possibly one or both have contracted Covid & are in the midsts of recovery?

Or perhaps they couldn't be bothered to make it across? More likely IMHO.

Regardless, there's been good debates & heated discussions on various topics here without the descent into name-calling, bitchiness & general nastiness.
