With the greatest respect to the Windies what will happen when England are up against India, Pakistan, New Zealand etc.

In this test match, Crawley, Root, Laurance and Stokes have scored 34 runs between them !!!!!
Yes that's 34 runs from 8 innings from our front line batsman !!!!!
An average of 4.25 !!!!!
The ' rabbit' Jack Leach and Mahmood both individually scored more than those 8 innings produced !!!!
England's no10 and 11 put them to shame.
Spineless and gutless effort that's been going on for way to long.
Root should relinquish his captaincy after this. He looks burdened by the complete dross he is surrounded by.
The whole structure of England's game is rotten to the core. The planning the coaching the domestic game. It's all in disarray and heads should roll.

Well that's endorsed my opinion about Joe Root.
After another humiliation Joe says.......
' I feel like the group are behind me '
Dead right Joe, they are right behind you...... following you back to the pavilion on a regular basis'
' we have played some really good cricket throughout'
Seriously, thanks to Leach and Mahmood you were spared a crushing innings defeat.
'We've made many big improvements'
' there is so much we can take away from this'

Well we will see how brave or gutless the ECB are now.
After successive and humiliating series defeats ( beaten at home to the Kiwis and behind to India) then the embarrassment of the Ashes and this spineless performance in the Windies. All on Joe Roots watch. Yes he individually was brilliant in general last year, but his captaincy is not good enough. Perhaps being more honest, and not being afraid to criticize some woeful individual performances would give him more credibility.
How he can defend some of the dross served up is beyond me. There were hardly any greater and charasmatic characters than Botham and Keegan ( football), yet neither coped with the pressure at the highest level.
Joe do the honourable thing and step aside. Concentrate on what you are destined for, being England's most prolific Test Match run scorer.
