Day 1 of 3

DagenhamFox

Blue Roofer
I have a 3 nighter tonight, tomorrow and Saturday.

Tonight was Suede at Ally Pally. The venue was bigger than I expected but I got close enough to the stage and had a bit of room to dance and bounce.

They did the whole of Coming Up which I love, it’s one of my favourite albums, and then a greatest hits section.

Brett was his usual energetic self bouncing around the stage and kneeling far more than I would with my fucked up knee.

The band were absolutely brilliant too. I throughly enjoyed it. All in all a brilliant night.

That's impressive I'm usually flagging by the third consecutive night, what are the other 2 gigs? I've had a 3 gig week this week though, Those Damn Crows in Derby on Tuesday, who were excellent, The Rose of Avalanche in Nottingham on Saturday and Wayward Sons again in Nottingham on Sunday. Then a week off and a New Model Army double header at rock city next Friday and Saturday!

Dog Man Star was good too. Loved Butler's guitar on We Are The Pigs.

The main thing I remember from my one gig at Ally Pally many years ago (Editors) was the awful acoustics. Hope the sound was better last night!

It was a bit of a blast with the sound.

The second wasn’t a gig, I was at the England v Albania game this evening. I’m on the tube home now after a little stop with friends at St Pancras.

Tomorrow I’m at The O2 for Ministry of Sound’s 30th birthday party, several top DJ’s with a 50 piece orchestra also playing the dance tunes.

I’m intrigued and looking forward to it immensely.

Sunday I chill.

As for Butler I listened to the two Macalmond and Butler songs earlier today. Yes is absolutely brilliant, I’d forgotten how good it is.

I lost Dog Man Star years ago and never replaced it. I think I need to.

Agree - Yes is brilliant. Enjoy tonight. Sounds interesting.

Last night was absolutely epic. The first half were fine sets by some of the top DJ’s who have played at Minisyry of Sound, including Paul Oakenfold and Judge Jules.

The second part was the 50 piece orchestra playing dance classics. The sound was great and the lighting even better. It was great to have a real boogie and sing song. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
