Went along to see it which I don’t do nowadays often enough. Big crowd down there.Good to see old faces from years ago and from more recent. Result aside people are working very hard on limited budget to keep the whole thing going. They deserve some credit. Friends of Leicestershire still tirelessly bringing round the bucket, been doing it from time immemorial now it seems. There is still an important community down at Grace Road.Piss on community and community dies. Hang on to every last shred of Leicestershire CCC. No big cunty anything to be allowed to sully our beloved County. Maurice Hallam,George Geary,Willie Watson, Stanley Jayashinge,Clive Inman,Terry Spencer,Jack van Gelovan,Brian Davison,Jack Birkenshaw,Ken Higgs, “Garth”McKenzie,Tony Lock,Ray Illingworth,Phil Simmons,Paddy Clift (the best last over bowler in the history of the entire world),Norman (“try and score a fucking run off me”) McVicker, Scott Boswell (oh dear,oh dear, one bad day and that’s all it was),Les “Bradman” Taylor. So my memory can’t readily recall the rest of the innumerable “greats” that we have had the privilege to enjoy over the years and the not so greats that we should have it in our hearts to forgive. We are Leicestershire,it is our heartbeat,it’s who we are. Forget that and we forget everything!
