Cooper gone

I agree with every word of that.
I always thought Cooper was a shorter term appointment with the one objective to keep us up.
Never given a proper chance from day one.
We have been clear underdogs in more than half the games we have played.
I'd have hoped to have got a couple of extra points against the top teams and I did get the feeling there was very little belief when they played those teams.
The more important games, the results were decent enough.
Actually watching the performances, could you see any pattern? Any identity? Im watching Ipswich as I type this. The difference between their approach to playing Manyoo, compared to our recent pathetic effort. Positive. Thats the key. Ipswich may lose this game, but their fans wont turn on Mc Kenna, because its clear he does the best he can with what he has. With Cooper, everything was over cautious and negative. Yanited arent all that, but we looked like we considered ourselves unworthy to share a pitch with them, like they were 90’s Fergie. Thats on the manager.

Nothing much will change imo, the squad simply isn't good enough. If anyone thinks we will shoot up the table because we have sacked Cooper, think again.
There is a lot of dross in our squad, that won't change with a different manager.
Cooper wasn't out of his depth with that team, he was an underwhelming choice selected to manage an underwhelming team.
Personally I think giving someone just 12 league games makes the club look ridiculous.
Why even appoint him if they expected so much more ? And what do they think that squad can achieve ?
I think 15th is about the best we can hope for, and tbh I am struggling to see who we can finish above other than Ipswich and Southampton.
I think all the established Prem teams are better than us.
The only hope I see is getting a better calibre of manager backed with substantial funds for transfers, and how do we do that with the fact we don't have a pot to piss in.
I can see that the vast majority will back Coopers sacking but when the euphoria dies down you will still wake up in the morning and see the likes of Vesty, Daka, Ward, Choudhury, Thomas, Kristianson, Édouard etc etc still in the squad.
Time will tell, but even for a better manager than Cooper, they will still have a squad of players not good enough for the Prem.

Spot on Brauny (apart from spelling Kristansen wrong 😉) - if the incoming manager can make a silk purse out of this pig's ear of a squad they will fully deserve their avoiding relegation bonus.

Can’t imagine any sound minded fan expecting us to shoot up the table at all.
15 games in charge does sound a short period of time but it’s the displays that are the issue. They’ve been truly abysmal.
Played ok at home to Tranmere. 1st half against palace & Bournemouth & 2nd half Southampton & that’s your lot.
Anyone who thinks that side he put out v Walsall aren’t streets ahead ability wise than what that league 2 side had out are cukoo, so who was to blame for that performance? Poor coaches/ poor manager, thank god he’s gone.
Makes me laugh how many people are putting Ipswich in our category when we have. “ a shocking squad”. Do people think they have a shocking squad, cus I certainly don’t.

Ipswich have been very together for an amazing couple of seasons and have had managerial stability .
We can change our manager but we are still lumped with players who will never make the top grade.
Time will tell, I just don't think a new manager will answer all of our problems.
It needs a lot of money and much much better recruitment.
Cooper never had that benefit, he was saddled with a lot of shite

It’s quite funny how some of the same people who said Enzo did nothing special in getting 97 points because we had the best side also think we have an awful squad right now.
Which is it?
As ever the reality is somewhere closer to the middle of both extremes.
Brentford got promoted via the play offs in 2021. They’ve pretty much established themselves as a mid range stable top flight having not really done anything dramatic in the process transfers wise. So there’s a fair argument they’ve done a hell of a lot more with a fair bit fucking less than we have at our disposal.
It could be argued last season was the toughest championship season ever given an extremely strong Leeds side got over 90 points and are still left in it.

Let’s face it, you can spin it however you want though. I’m glad he’s gone but if we appoint Van Nistelrooy, I give up. Would be another retarded decision probably influenced by a couple of wins against our hapless, plan-less football.

I respect your opinion but comparing last season with this season is a non starter.
The gulf in class between the divisions is astronomical.
Brentford imo have one of the top managers.
When the ship was sinking under TCR I was hoping we would go for Thomas Frank, but we didn't.....

You’ll get likes galore for the above and the way you’ve framed it to make me look stupid but my somewhat simplistic point was a side that finished significantly worse than we did in a weaker league than we did flourished because they had a good manager.

Edit to add - and they have a clearly defined style of football and a plan to create chances.

Bit fooking paranoid if you think I was trying to make you look stupid.
No intention of that.

Chris Sutton thinks we’ve made the wrong decision. Classic Sutton this. Obviously hasn’t seen us play one minute this season unlike us.

“ Former Premier League striker Chris Sutton said that he "cannot believe" Cooper has been sacked.
He added: "I think they have had a reasonable start to the season, they are not in the relegation zone.
"The three promoted sides last season went straight back down. I think that decision is really harsh."

What we need is money and much more astuteness in recruiting.
We need to ship out numerous players and replace them with players that have still got ambition rather than just stealing a living .
We just seem to be full of either dead wood, has beens and never will be's.
I think we can just about put out half a Premier League team. In this league you can't afford any passengers let alone half your team.
When we got promoted in 13-14 there was an exciting look to the team, it felt like even when we were really struggling that we could still do something.
I don't get any of that with this set up. It's just a group of players being thrown together with very little forward thinking.
I would take last season's promotion all day long, but it's like there is been very little in the way of a plan to properly re-establish ourselves in this division.

Same old stuff, from media who haven't seen us

Some will consider that a realistic proposition, but it's been proven countless times that big name players don't make great managers.
I very much doubt there are many fans who think Lampard a realistic proposition, his record is appalling, even co* fans don’t want him.
It’s egotistical and dense owners that think the likes of Lampard, Rooney and Gerrard are serious contenders, most football fans have called them out as useless some time ago.

These players aren't bad they just need a structure last season. Look at last season the players had a structure and knew what they were doing. They look lost at the moment.
It’s a different league. A massive jump in class and these players are not good enough.
KDH was the driving force in midfield and he is a big miss for this club, although he would struggle, they need a structure all right , a 100foot one so they can jump off it.

I wouldn't say they are useless, but their reputations as footballers is no guide to success in management.
They seem to walk into fairly high profile jobs with literally no experience at all.
