I believe Cooper is a nice bloke but way out of his depth, but this squad whoever put it together is atrocious, now if he didn't collate them I have sympathy with him ' but if he was responsible then he's got what he deserves. I really can't remember such a poor bunch with the exception of a few who would get into any other premiership side. So whoever they have in mind IF they have anyone in mind ???? Good luck with this lot !!!!

I think 77/78 is the relevant and somewhat baleful comparison when it comes to squad quality, with BdeCR in the role of George Armstrong
 
Nothing much will change imo, the squad simply isn't good enough. If anyone thinks we will shoot up the table because we have sacked Cooper, think again.
There is a lot of dross in our squad, that won't change with a different manager.
Cooper wasn't out of his depth with that team, he was an underwhelming choice selected to manage an underwhelming team.
Personally I think giving someone just 12 league games makes the club look ridiculous.
Why even appoint him if they expected so much more ? And what do they think that squad can achieve ?
I think 15th is about the best we can hope for, and tbh I am struggling to see who we can finish above other than Ipswich and Southampton.
I think all the established Prem teams are better than us.
The only hope I see is getting a better calibre of manager backed with substantial funds for transfers, and how do we do that with the fact we don't have a pot to piss in.
I can see that the vast majority will back Coopers sacking but when the euphoria dies down you will still wake up in the morning and see the likes of Vesty, Daka, Ward, Choudhury, Thomas, Kristianson, Édouard etc etc still in the squad.
Time will tell, but even for a better manager than Cooper, they will still have a squad of players not good enough for the Prem.
 
This might go against the grain with most on this board but I think he was dealt a shit hand by those from above.
The signings made with the exception of Buononotte are bang average and if that is the recruitment man then he should go along with the wankers running the club who are to blame for the whole debacle.
He did a great job with Swansea and the Trent cunts and it will be interesting to see who wants to work with some of the worst players in the premier league.
He also seemed to be getting a tune out of Soumare which is frankly a miracle.
Yesterday’s performance was poor but Chelsea have spent something like 1.5 billion on players whereas we have been into the charity shop.
Hermansson Winks, Buonanotte, Fatawu are the only definite premier league players we have.
We are going down at this rate because I don’t see 3 worse teams in the league than us.

It’s the performance levels not the results. The league table position is fine in isolation it’s the pathetic displays that show we are only heading in one direction.
I like that they’ve taken quick decisive action and effectively admitted they’ve got it wrong rather than carrying on through pure stubbornness and saw us continue to sink without trying to stem the tide.
Rudkin obviously has to go aswell but that’s nothing new.
 
Don't take too long over an appointment the next incumbent has a shed load of problems to sort out to keep us in this Division and very little time to do it in.
 
I think the club expected a points deduction and this impacted our player signings and our choice of manager. I also think it restricted our appeal to those wanting to come here. I want a manager who will micro manage the players and style to suit a club our size. Not one that wants to be a Pep clone with walking football. Give me a big man up front please to partner Vardy. and a defence that does not panic from corners.

I agree with every word of that.
I always thought Cooper was a shorter term appointment with the one objective to keep us up.
Never given a proper chance from day one.
We have been clear underdogs in more than half the games we have played.
I'd have hoped to have got a couple of extra points against the top teams and I did get the feeling there was very little belief when they played those teams.
The more important games, the results were decent enough.

I think you’re spot on with the point deduction. It put off a lot of potential managers and players too. We’re not bottom on 4 points like Southampton so the next manager has got some reasonable points in the bag to start with. All we have to do is somehow survive and then kick on. This should be a 5 year plan from when TCR left us f**^^d. First year go straight up. ✅ 2nd season 17th and then move slowly up.
But I truly feel Rudkin isn’t the future and needs to go ASAP. Going to be interesting to see who we get.

We have a squad that can easily stay up now Cooper has gone. Cooper was the problem.
