Looks like County have blown this.
Should have made 200 from the position they were in.
Notts need 45 off 4.4 overs.
 
Lost by 1 wicket !!!!

A game that slipped through their fingers.
Scoring over 100 without losing a wicket and then ending with just 188 wasn't enough.
200 should have been a minimum from the strong start they made

Disappointed with that.one.

I agree it looked like they were light by about 20 to 30 on a ground with such a small boundary though Ahmed & Masood went at pretty much 12 an over once together. Not sure I would have Kimber send himself in in front of those two at the time.

Despite this though ultimately they bowled better than us. Not for the first time this season our fast bowlers don't currently have the control & variation required to stop runs when they are flowing in this form of the game and were easy meat allowing Notts to use the pace of the ball (as I say, this is becoming a recurring theme). Both Trevaskis & Kimber bowl to get wickets by floating the ball up more but sometimes need to fire it in (Kimber managed a maiden in his 3 but still went at nearly 9 an over). And why Scriven only got 2 overs today I just don't understand.

Nearly escaped too but for what looked like a mis-judgement in the field at the end and (was it?) a failure by Cox to gather the throw so destroying the stumps without the ball (?). Also... note to Ahmed & Masood, probably best in a limited overs game to run rather than stand & admire the shot just in case it doesn't reach the rope.

Just looking at the tables, we are 31 points clear of Derbyshire in second place, a useful lead. There are only 37 points between Derbyshire and Kent who sit bottom.

There will be no easy games, there’s all to play for.
 
I'd be interested to know what the crowd was last night. I was chatting to my daughter's partner yesterday and he said for the Warwickshire game, the ground was full pretty much all round. That goes against what one or two of our 'experts' have been saying.

County finish with 173 for 6.

Not bad, could have been worse.

Still feels a bit light though
 
Worcestershire comfortably knocking them off.

This will be a big blow to our hopes of qualifying.

Concentrate on the league then.......

Ground capacity 6k we haven't got any more then 3k for any match if you look at the family stand for example it's always 90% empty

Agree with Everton never more than 50% full
Touch and go now who is the third best supported club in the city between the cricket and basketball
Going forward the basketball wins very few people under 25 attend the cricket

Know the cricket has Stench a bloke in his mid 60s singing endless football songs.
 
i was at Worcester yesterday, ground probably two thirds full. County looked tired and were outplayed in every department, injuries taking their toll and Patel badly out of form.
 
Anyone know why when there are nine teams in each division, they only play six of them twice, and the other two once ?
I’m presuming it’s a lack of time ?
