i think they would. strikers carry a premium. english players carry a premium. it would still be £60m LESS than neymar and £45m LESS than mbappe.
they'll try and offset it with players in exchange.

the bigger surprise for me is that grealish will cost £100m. we all know he's super talented, but completely untested at the top level. never played european football, only got minutes from the bench at international level. and i can't see many man city players wanting to go to villa as part of the deal.

Really? That’s absolutely crackers, and from a club that has be up to now not spent over the odds for any player, including Mahrez.

I’ve asked before and it’s more relevant now, would you spend £130 mill on Kane or Haaland?

Kane is now 28. By the look of how Man City treated Aguero he’s got 5 seasons tops, especially as he’s played a lot of football from an early age. It seems only RM and Barça pay daft money for older players.
With wages, you’re talking about £200m for 5 years. Now I know they’re rich but they’re not stupid as opposed to Kane who was the idiot who signed a SIX year contract in 2018. 4 years and he’d be off now. He’s stuck there now.
