Brexit

Of course they think we are stupid, we are!

The continued support from the electorate for the LibLabCon proves that, as indeed does falling for the Covid con.

The deal has I think been done, some time ago in fact. The Government will cave to everything the EU really want whilst tossing us a few scraps and telling us what a great deal we are getting, we will be tied to all the rules enforced by the the ECJ, effectively the enforcement arm of the Fourth Reich.

We will of course have no say in the EU as we will not be a 'full member' but a vassal state. Rules will be applied to us that, strangely, do not apply to Germany and France (for 'reasons'), we will be looted blind, fully punished for resisting the EU project.
Have to agree, you cannot be a the Prime minister unless your in the elite body so he will do as he is told by the illuminati.

There is wanting your cake and eating it.

We have left the EU as you wanted.

How exactly does that make us part of the "Fourth Reich" or do you prefer EUSSR?
we have not left the EU if we are still tied in by laws or we cannot control our own fishing waters. we did not vote for a deal, that option was not on the ballot, we voted to leave as an independent state.

So you really want to pull up the drawbridge?

Good luck with that.

You may find we need a deal more than the EU do.

Hi SF.

If we continue to take instructions from the EU and allow the ECJ to have any juristiction over our affairs, then we have not left the EU.

That is both my concern and my expectation.

Germany's increasing domination of the EU suggests that 'Fourth Reich' is more appropriate. However this is trivial name calling, I really should not do that, it distracts from the real issues.

Let's be honest here, it's a complete mess, and it looks like we're going to be worse off whatever happens. It's already been claimed that it's so far cost us more than we paid in for 47 years, with worse to come as manufacturing gets hit and the banks continue to leave.

It's not just shooting yourself in the foot, it's blowing your own arms and legs off.

Two thoughts.

For leavers, economics have never been the main issue, it is about sovereignty and self determination.

Had our wretched government carried out it's promises and left the EU after the referendum most of the mess would have been avoided.

However these arguments are spurious, they did not happen, we are where we are.

Mmmm. There is most certainly something going on at 'levels' I/we know little about. I think we see 'strands' from time to time but the overall blueprint, I have no idea.

But surely you cannot ignore the economic arguments?

If self-determination is so important, maybe the UK should quit other organisations like the UN and the WTO too?

Anyway Dickie, you wont have to buy it.
Most people who have any type of processed food, takeaways etc won't have a choice if they eat chicken.

Your point about salad misses the point. The US chlorinate their chicken because their rearing and processing standards are far lower than in the EU, so they just wash it with chlorine to "hopefully" kill the bacteria. Salad is washed at much lower levels of chlorine in the water, lower than even tap water.

Also I believe the US want the country of origin removed from the packaging so we will find it harder to choose whether we we buy chlorinated chicken or none chlorinated chicken.
Three points.
1. If there's nothing wrong with it then why worry about giving us a choice.
2. Our own food standards will have to be lowered to accommodate the American food.
3. Will that mean we will struggle to send food to the EU if our standards don't meet EU standards.

I don't, simply pointing out that it was not, for many people, the 'main issue'.

The UN is a farce, as is WHO, happy to quit both. The WTO does have it's uses, limited though they are.
