Brexit delayed again...

Funny isn’t it ? The EU are now controlling their border with us .
We haven’t worked out a way to do it yet without totally fucking our supply chains . Who knew ?
You really could not make it up

Kind of supports AFC's view to be fair.

BBC News - Brexit: Checks on goods imported from the EU delayed again https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-58556453
This has always been part of the plan. In any trading relationship the smooth running of any agreements relies on the good will of both sides. This is usually self regulating unless you are deliberately trying to fuck things up, this is the case now as both sides want to see the UK in difficulties to force some kind of 're-entry' into the EU.

It is as plain as day and has been for several years.

Well I said sort of, since the UK can't be arsed to implement the checks it insisted on by leaving the Customs Union...

Or …. the EU simply treating us a a third country. That is to say what we voted for and negotiated a treaty based upon .
The U.K. government now realising we had no plan and never did, except for a few lies and meaningless slogans to win an election which has royally fucked over the country .

The Bank of England report Brexit is costing around 440 million a week in lost income since the referendum.
Never mind . The low paid will foot the bill .

Exactly, it is in the interests of the UK government to fuck with the economy by fucking with trade.

As foxgolfer says, the drop in trade and business will be borne by the low paid and 'ordinary people' not the elites.

What he doesn't say is that this is deliberate and a punishment beating for daring to vote the wrong way in the referendum.

Apart from they are deliberately not passing on the cost to the consumer...

Inflation dear boy...

It will hit all regular people, as will shortages that will be brought about by stagnation of the economy. It has already started, supply chain problems lead to layoffs, energy prices are going up as indeed are taxes, bit by bit people will be squeezed into poverty, not too quickly or too many people might wake up.

Customs charges...

If only there was some sort of free trade agreement with our closest and largest market in the world .

Customs charges...
Are mostly trivial in business terms. it is the deliberate obfuscation and capricious application of the rules that is the problem.

Most of my working life was pre Customs Union and Pre Single market. The UK music business was huge in Europe, we just got on with it. Sure it had it's moments but FFS, it was just business.

2016 - “Theres no downside to Brexit”
2021 - Michael Gove brought in to guarantee our food supplies

What could possibly go wrong ? 😂
That is like putting the chief 'scrumper' in charge of the orchard.

Unless and until you understand that all the 'Brexit disruption' is deliberate and caused by the actions of the government, civil service and other pro-EU organisation, then there is little to discuss as what I say will be meaningless to you.

It is all deliberate and designed to crush the UK, make us reliant on the EU and to annexe the UK to the EU project.

Strange, I still havent come across any “food shortages”.
Ive noticed There’s quite a lot missing in the chilled food aisles and bulky stuff like bottled drinks .
No big deal…….. yet . …….,,

Not sure it’ll stay like that once we need to import all our fruit and veg, later in the winter .
Restaurants are reporting quite a lot of shortages.

Who cares.

At least we've controlled immigration, regained our sovereignty and don't have to pay any money to the EU, or abide by their rules.

Me neither but a restaurant we were in a week of two ago had a couple of items 'off' due to non deliveries.

So far we have been absolutely fine, only real issue is a lack of reasonable carbonated water, our soft drink of choice. Talking about British brands, Highland Spring and some of the nicer supermarket stuff. drinking M&S at the moment, not the best but ok.
