Bouncebackability…

If we don’t get the win/results tomorrow do we think we have the capabilities and players to come straight back up?
I remember my lads being so upset when we last got relegated about 20 years ago and at the time I said it would take about 10 years to get back up, but even the drop to Division 1 (mental season) we have had the best time ever in our history in the last 10 years…
I really hope another miracle can happen tomorrow but if it does we need our owners/investors to have a massive clear out of players/coaches and all the hangers on at our club…
Might go and play golf tomorrow during the game as I don’t think I can bring myself to watch it…
Up the City…

Thats exactly what I shall be doing too Feckit... try to concentrate on summat else rather than crapping myself on a game I have no control over .... not that I have much control over my golf btw.!
Have a good game mate 👍

Cheers to that… 🍻

Nope not immediately.

Just surviving is the name of the game in the next year or two imo
It's going to be a massive culture shock to begin with.
The stadium will probably have about 10k empty seats for many games.
There will be plenty of opposition that ain't going to motivate people to get out of bed for, particularly in the cold of winter.
When Top has finally come to terms with the financial implications of this fall from grace, only then will we see whether he's got any ambition to rebuild the club.
We certainly need to be free of the FFP implications to be able to plan ahead again.

It should be less stressful because of the inevitable apathy about the club once our players are replaced by unknowns and those that are not anywhere near the calibre we have had.
The much mocked Seagrave should be a good bargaining chip for future recruitment despite what people say.
With the incredible success the club as gained a lot more prestige than it had 10 years ago.
I am hoping that with the best facilities outside the Prem by a country mile, and that our raised profile will once again make us an attractive proposition to help us to start making a comeback.
Not going to be easy, but I will be glad when tomorrow is over and we can start to tackle the things that have fucked this club up over the last year or so.

Bloody hell!
So why we're suffering in the ground watching what latest method our 'heroes' find to screw things up you'll be in the sun pondering whether to take a wedge or 9 iron to the 15th.
You know how to rub our noses in it.
I hope you lose half a dozen balls, shoot your worse ever score, loose your phone and all wireless reception, so you have as much agonising over the results as the rest of us. 😁

Do I think we'll bounce straight back - No.
We are going to be left with a bunch of players that lack fitness, pace and fight which should be the main basic to build from in the championship.
They'll need to get to the stage where:
1) We have a strong defence that doesn't concede
2) An industrious midfield
3) Robust quick forwards that can score and handle themselves when faced with defenders that don't rely on finesse
I think it will take a season for the club to even realise what's needed.

Of the 12 teams relegated from the Premier League over the past four seasons, five (42%) have come back up the following season. All five were smaller clubs than us. It’s very doable.

Can only make a balanced guess after we know who’s in charge & what players have left & arrived I guess.

And that'll probably be why we struggle.
The smaller clubs didn't leave themselves in such a perilous financial position as we have. Less disruption and rebuilding to do.

Burnley overhauled their entire squad last summer and spent very little, yet still won the division at a canter this year.

Didn't go down with mountains of debt though did they ? Probably a lot easier for them to rebuild. We know that there are a lot of backroom staff that will lose their jobs, so it won't just be the playing side that will change.
It remains to be seen whether we are even capable of recruiting players that are good enough to get us back.

Depends who we get in as manager

Totally unpredictable at the moment. With so many players leaving and not clear who the manager is going to be, it's very much unknown territory until the summer at least.
