Boris and PMQ's

Brauny

The optimistic pessimist
Pull up a seat, get the popcorn out, and watch what could be a very lively and pivotal PMQ session.
Surely Boris is at the end of the plank, but will his own party do a ' Maggie ' on him and force him out ?
Could it even be an own goal by Labour ? Isnt Boris in power their best asset ?

Probably won't comment and refer to the current Sue Gray internal investigation.
Will also remind people to get boosted.
Wonder if any Tory MPs will cross the floor?

Would've been interesting to see Rayner have a go at Johnson, as she evidently dislikes him. But Starmer is back, so let's see.

I guarantee Johnson will be all puffed up, fingers will be jabbed, eyes will roll many times, he'll shake his head in that bemused fashion that he only can, & as Sixth says, will deflect like hell.

Tory on BBC last night, she reckoned he can't get away with referring to the internal investigation. Reckons he has to answer and if it's positive then he has to go. Didn't sound good for him, only positive is that they are clueless as to who their next leader should be.

Another possibility...that Johnson doesn't turn up, due to a 2nd bout of Covid?

On this occasion, I don't think he can use Carrie having another baby as an excuse for not appearing.

If the Elite want something kept out of the headlines, they don't need PMQs to deflect.
You just won't hear about it, ever...

What's being kept out of the headlines?
l can guess, but trust me there's a lot of stuff coming to the boil that they don't want you to know about.

This happens all the time, but most don't want to know. Its the same as all these opinions of people who only read headlines then think they can talk about the subject at length and correct others who have put the leg work in.

Would be a monumental moment in politics if Boris deflects, and Starmer asks the same question 6 times, ' were you at the party on the 20th May 2020 ? '
If he has no credible reason, he has to resign or be sacked.

Like what?

boris will answer every question with "we kept businesses open, we kept society open, everyone had a nice christmas. if it was down to labour they would have locked down"

That won't be good enough over this.
You can't survive misleading parliament whichever side you bat for.
If he was at that party he should go imo.
My only question is why and who exposed this after all this length of time ?

cummings exposed it, last week. he told journalists to look at that date, and a couple of days later ITV had their scoop.

cummings was at the heart of the government for what, a year? if boris survives this one cummings will drop another bomb, and another, and another. the guys likes nothing more than fucking with peoples heads. boris must have known this when he went into partnership with him, so reap what you sow...

Boris sent Cummings out the Downing Street front door, carrying a box and in front of the gathered press.
After falling for the idea that Dom was a mole, when it was actually someone closer to home.
He can't have expected Dom to bow out gracefully.

I never heard Cummings mentioned over this, but he would be number one suspect regardless.

Cummings is sat at the table, opposite Reynolds at the infamous Downing Street garden party.
Wonder if that was a photo, or a still from a security camera?

"I believed it was a work event". He can't stop lying even now...
"Technically fell within the guidance" (so still trying to wriggle out of it). And all those people that were sitting in isolation or socially-distanced with 1-2 others in parks that were being ushered along by the police?

"Heartfelt apology". So not very heartfelt then.

Unlike a lot of you posters on here I am not a staunch Labour supporter, but I do recognise that this is wrong, and he should do the only viable thing and resign.
In March 2020 I took my Mam and Dad out for a trip to Gates Garden Centre near Oakham for a lovely lunch, and quality time with my dad who had the ravages of dementia.
It would be the last time I went out with my dad.
Later that month we were in a strict lockdown, and although my dad passed away 6 months later, he would of been ok for a trip out for the period between March and July.
I feel robbed that my dad and our family were denied what would of been some precious moments, before my dad's life took its inevitable path.
Whilst I supported the lockdown, when you hear that the leader of our country as trampled all over the rules that they so solemnly addressed the nation with, then you bet I feel touch angry.

I don’t know if that is necessarily true, but ‘anti-Johnson’ is probably a fairer description.

Really sorry to hear about your situation - unfortunately very similar to so many others.

To add, possibly anti-Tory generally too, especially with the shit senior politicians & the backbench facilitators we’ve been landed with over the last 2 years.
