Bodgers game management summed up perfectly

While I'm not arguing with the gist of it, we weren't completely controlling the game until the 73rd when he did his one (appalling) substitution.
They scored in the 62nd minute.

Seen this rewriting of the game on FT as well, a fair number think they only scored after the substitution.

I really do think some people read too much into the goings on that we can see.

We were 2-0 up and coasting. They got a goal back and suddenly their tails were up. We made a shite substitution and no others, for which I am still baffled, and they scored an equaliser.

Amartey made a couple of errors but he’s not our best centre back by a long chalk. Söyüncü despite his episodes is a better player and should have started.

Rodgers fucked up but will never admit to his failures, he hasn’t before so he ain’t gonna start now.

Maybe Arsenal will be better. It needs to be.

I respect your posts Daggers, but I am more and more convinced we are in deep poo.
Youri's situation is screwing the club over. The lack of him clarifying his position as left everything in limbo. Now we are faced being left with a player, who probably as set his mind on being elsewhere, and who we could have trousered enough funds for us to alter things. Instead we are likely to watch one of our main assets walking out the door for peanuts.
If Little Wes goes or gets injured, what seriously do we have left in defence ?
The club seems paralyzed in all its planning at the moment. It's very quiet, and nobody seems to be offering anything to encourage you that it's just a temporary blip.
It's like a smooth running machine that's run out of oil.

However Tielemans apparently had a great game and was arguably man of the match. Maybe he’s playing for a transfer. Maybe he’s resigned himself to staying here and wants to put in a decent shift to ensure he travels to Qatar.

Who knows.

Funny how few comment on Little Wes trying a Hollywood pass to Maddison from which Brentford regained possession and scored. Sure others may have made mistakes as well but if we had looked after the ball better in the first place...

I personally think him staying to the end is the worst scenario for us. Yes we get one last season, but it's a major asset we won't cash in on. I also think that the relationship between the fans and player is fractured. However misplaced it may be, fans always love players who are committed to the club.
The club has done pretty well in replacing big assets over the last few years. We needed that money to try and develop more young and ambitious prospects. Youri seeing his contract out as denied us following our plan of previous seasons. Imo it's this lack of decision making and leadership that currently seems to have strangled the club.

The time to sell him was after his cup final goal given at that point he had two years left on his contract.

Hindsight helps mind.

If the offer is below £25m, it would make more sense for us to let him see out his contract and accept he leaves on a free next summer. The benefit of selling at a lowball price would be outweighed by the benefit of having another season with him in the squad.

Have you not seen Soyunco play recently. He's our fourth choice centre back if that.

I hazard a guess that would not have gone down well, neither on here nor elsewhere in our fanbase.

Unless, of course, an astronomical offer had come in which probably didn't!

Absolutely spot on Brauny.

Of course it wouldn’t have gone down well.

We are inept at knowing when to extend contracts and when not to. When to sell and when to keep hold of a player. We usually give them long and expensive contracts and are then saddled with the burden.

For our decent players anything less than 2 years left is a concern. Transfer fees drop which goes against our plan. The rubbish ones though we need to learn to not extend them and risk losing these players for nothing.

Back to Tielemans, Arsenal won’t conclude the transfer until last orders as it’ll give us less time to bring in any replacements, which will weaken us and therefore give Arsenal more chance of finishing in the top 6 places. They see us as a real threat and will do all they can to bully us off the ball. Again we seem resigned to this and we’re doing nothing about it, not that we can see anyway.

Given that Arsenal apparently haven’t even picked up the phone, the only thing we can do is tell Tielemans that if a bid does not come before (say) 20 August, or if it comes below £25 million, you’re not going anywhere this summer. There’s no way we should contemplate accepting an offer late in the transfer window and/or one below £25m.

I fully agree with you and this is maybe being discussed with the player.

The problem with everything being conducted in secret nowadays is it just increases speculation in the press and between the supporters.

We don’t know what we’re discussing with Tielemans. We don’t know how much transfer kitty we have, if any. We don’t know how close to financial fair play we are sailing. We try to piece everything together from the snippets we hear and so do the media.

I hope Tielemans and his agent have been given a deadline and corresponding figures. The LM reported there was an "open discussion" between Rodgers and Tielemans recently, and the latter has been quoted that he wants the issue resolved quickly also with regards to his children and their school (he doesn't want to take them in and then out again).

So we can at least hope the issues both of you have mentioned are being addressed but indeed (!) we do not know as it's not done in the open.

Does anybody know any relevant school dates in Leicestershire?

said to my lad after that happened , imagine if amartey would of done that the abuse he would of received, but it did not really matter because quite a few blamed him for the second goal anyway

Youri's house here in the Republic is 'Sold Subject To Contract' according to 'rightmove'. Read into that what you will.

Ain't he moving to another club owned house in Rearsby
Dunno mate. Where's that info. come from? Don't see the logic in that as he's a family guy with three (I think) young kids under 5 who has been well settled in Quorn. Local intelligence is that Gökhan Inler lived there previously and the house was owned by LCFC. Maybe his move has been forced by the club to raise a few bob?
