Big Sam knows

That seems to be the case.He basicly says that the problem is EM's lack of expereince as a manager.
A coach can get by as long as the wheels don't fall off then it finds them out.
He has to present a different way of giving the opposition an unexpected challenge.
And alter the intermatch periods to reestablish focus. This is where, I suspect, Sam would have skipped
the way to Plymouth via Leicester and offered a different environment.
I once saw Liverpool doing their prematch routines on Saffron Lane reccy two hours before a cup tie at Filbert street.

Certain responses to crticism and obervations recently have suggested to me a brittle self conciousness in EM.
As does a determination to persevere with the familiar which may disguise an absence of any alternative.
He may be reluctant to ring any of his mates up for advice which may a sign of all this as well.
Just to be clear, Sam does not absolve the players from responsibility.
When we say all hands to the pumps, it means all...
Just another opinion? He (Sam) has not gained a reputation for last ditch firefighting for nothing.

I keep asking if he's phoned Pep surely he could take advice off him?

Trouble is he would have to be on the phone to pep while the games going on.
Let’s face it, he’s never going to start playing a different tactic all of a sudden this late into the season. He just wouldn’t have the time to get the players on board with it, (not that he would entertain the idea anyway).
Someone can’t be told to not start a player because they are crap or substitute them when they are offering nothing. If a person needs telling these things then they are deep in the mire.

The players would quickly understand
‘we’re a goal down with 15 minutes to go so we’re going 2 up front. Can you get it forward a bit quicker? Oh and one of you stay on the halfway line if they get a corner. And if someone clatters one of our lot I want the nearest player to the foul to have a go at their player’

We had a 5 minute spell at Millwall with 2 up top. Iheanacho had a good chance straight at the keeper that he still did well to palm over the bar.

Wouldn't it be ironic if a team seemingly well blessed with enough talent missed their target for the second season running because of mismanagement?

No team with Madison, Barnes, RIc, JJ, Vards, Castagne, Evans and Teils should be in danger of relegation .
The likes of Justin are the reason we’re in this mess. No where near good enough on ridiculous wages, he’s bang average in the championship.

Everyone of those players were injured for long spells over the last couple of seasons, some more than others some multiple times.

Also they were supplemented by Ward, Amartey, Faes, Soumare, Daka and a collection of other ineffectuals.

So the talent, you’ve got 6 players there, was either aged, injured or just not there.
