After about a year fuel has deteriorated so much that it will cause your engine to misfire and shit. Wonder how they’re going to get rid of all that fuel not used during lockdown before it goes bad?
 
An energy shortage in all it's forms is being deliberately manufactured. Create shortages that will enable the authorities to limit and eventually ration its use, this will start off being controlled by price but will soon be determined by status.

Your digital ID will, in effect, be a ration card and what is available to you will depend on your political and social standing.

Step out of line and you will be in deep shit, everything that is happening right now has this as a primary motivation.

Piece by piece, take something in isolation, and you may feel like griping, putting on your duffle coat and trudging over to the market in the rain as if not much is happening.

However, just stop and consider all of the abysmal people governing, consider all of the perpetual onslaught on your senses, on your peaceful equilibrium, on your ideas of right, wrong, and your sense of fair play.

I'm happy that the good people can see it.

Is it the fact you can’t get petrol or the huge rise in energy prices and taxes which is so brilliant ?

It is brilliant because it will give the authorities another method to control you. Create a shortage then control access for normal people with the digital ID.

Step out of line and your energy 'privileges' will be curtained.
 
And of course as gas goes up so will electricity and then it will have to be taxed in a similar way to petrol and diesel so prepare to be shocked more than once. It might be time to invest in a pair of rubber boots

At the end of that timeframe, most of the population will not be able to afford cars or run them.
