Anyone off to the World Cup?

I have tickets to the England v USA group game, and also the final, if England qualifies.

I’m doing three nights for the USA game and plan to go to 4 or 5 games while I’m there. That’s the benefit to hosting it in a shit small country.

My mate has already paid for the final but only gets the ticket if England get there. A mere £850 for a cat B ticket. Apparently the cat A ones are around £1300!

Well worth 6500 migrant workers deaths!!!
There's blood all over every stadium.
I would be physically sick even setting foot into Qatar.
Let alone not being able to get a beer anywhere.
Total shithole.
As long as they take the knee to show solidarity against all forms of discrimination, surely that'll be alright.

  • It is an offence to drink alcohol or to be drunk in a public place. Those who are caught breaking this law can be deported, fined or receive prison sentences. Muslims caught drinking may be subjected to corporal punishment
  • Alcohol should not be transported within the country, except to take it home from the warehouse on the day of collection
  • It is an offence to offer alcohol to Muslims and minors
  • It is illegal to sell, donate or give away alcohol
Sounds like a barrel of laughs, I'll be watching on the tellybox with a few beers from my local co-op.

Looking forward to Germany 2024 though.

And what if you stumble on a public flogging as you are wandering round town looking for the stadium?
Or a public stoning of some poor Indian chambermaid for infidelity?
Talking of stoning - I can imagine Daggers ending up stoned out of his bonce having been lured into some dodgy Shisha bar and plied with khat before being gang raped by dozens of Taliban footsoldiers.
Still don't let me put you off! You enjoy yourself! Shame about the sore bottom!

Like Soho I couldn’t bring myself to donut. Tempted by AFCON but the next host country is a no-no according to the foreign office

The whole thing is a disgrace and I won’t watch a second of it.

Players should be boycotting it rather than the party line they’ve obviously been told to take.

Am I the only one that has no interest in the England national team what so ever, I could not care less, felt that way for years. Totally put off by the FA and the choice of managers post Ramsey, it was utterly unforgivable that Worthington and Weller played so few games along with the likes of Hudson, George, Tony Currie, Marsh, Stan Bowles, great players in the 70s. I would also never want to be around the moronic support that follow the England team, saw it first hand at Amsterdam 93, absolute mayhem, watched that game in a bar, the Dutch celebrating stopping England getting to the 94 world cup. I have seen hundreds if not a thousand or more league games, mostly Leicester but also lower league games with the likes of Chesterfield. I have never seen England play live, never wanted to and never will, I can't even watch them on TV anymore and won't watch any game in that corrupt World

No you’re not the only one.
For something that we partake in as an ‘enjoyment’, there is nothing enjoyable about it whatsoever. In fact, it has become an irritation and a wind-up, from listening to the shite that’s spouted by the ‘pundits’ in the studio, to the team selections and politically-correct managerial puppet appointments.
I’ve even found myself rooting for the opposition on occasions

I loved it when Iceland beat the big time Charlie's and knocked them out the tournament a few years ago, I was working in south Wales at the time and joined in with the celebrations! I first went to Germany with the Army in the mid 70s, loved it, also worked for a German company for many years and had visits to the factory in the Black Forest, the Germans are great. Generally they admire Britain, they love our history and the Queen, like our music and pub culture but I first heard the translation of apes from the Island some 30 years ago, this referred to men supporting the English Football team and their moronic behaviour and anti German chanting about WW2. Fortunately there will never be a international played in Dresden where 50,000 civilians were turned in to ash after the City was burnt to the ground by allied bombing, to say there would be a reaction is a understatement.

Yeah Soho they did start it, Kaiser William kicked it off in 1914, up till then relations with the Germans were good. Problem is the morons who follow our national team who mouth off and chant about WW2 have not got a clue about that history, its all about getting a reaction from the German fans. It makes make cringe with embarrassment, its pretty disrespectful to those who fought the Nazis too. My uncle Stan lies in a grave in Italy, died aged 24 in September 1944, a Leicester man and City fan.

I'm very much inclined to ignore the whole charade as well.

The increasingly bloated way they run the tournaments, the political hypocrisy and virtue signalling, the break with tradition to bow to an unfitting climate and so on...

Of course relations with Germany were good - the entire Royal family has been German since 1714.

In my local, Tal y Don, the locals stuck Iceland supermarket carrier bags up on the wall all around the tele before that game isn't it!
