know the theory, but I'm not sure if I'm getting two experiments together.

The theory is that if one Monkey started doing something and more copy until they all do the same.

In a Malaysian island one monkey started opening either shells or nuts on rocks, others copied until it was normal, but the mad thing was that another troop (?) of monkeys on another island with no contact to the first one adopted the method. There was no simple explanation. The did this experiment with people in England and Australia and the same results !
 
The Polish Division in WWII fought their way all through Italy with a pet Bear as their Mascot. They had raised it from when it was a cub and as soon as it got large enough it “aped” the soldiers and would pick up heavy wooden boxes and load them onto the backs of lorries. Today there are hundreds of Poles at Magna Park doing exactly the same thing. I’m fucked if I can work any of this shit out!
And I’ve just watched on the telly the Irish Guards mascot “Shamus”,appropriately an Irish Wolfhound, helping with The Trooping Of The Colour on Horseguards Parade. Well if Shamus had learnt to ride a Horse he could have transferred to the Blues & Royals,wouldn’t have to walk everywhere and could “eyes right” towards the Queen from a much better,higher vantage point!
 
…….at the end of the War the Polish Bear ended up in Edinburgh Zoo where it lived on until it died in the 1960’s. As the Polish soldiers waited in Scotland well over half of them decided not to return to their homeland and end up in the much worse ‘Soviet Zoo’!

Yeah, I’ve read a few articles etc. some point towards it actually happening (monkeys on another island or another part of the same island that had no contact with the original colony of monkeys started doing the same and other reports leaning towards a theoretical conclusion.
Interesting if true that it has actually happened.
