And What Happened To The Covid Spot Checks?

At Brighton.
They were supposed to be rigorously enforcing vaccine passport checks or negative tests. So we were advised to get to that dump early.
So what happened?
Zilch. Nothing. Faack all.
Never saw anyone being checked.

Because a lot of the announcements about such things, are designed to increase compliance without actually doing anything.

A Brighton fan on the train back, was under the impression the home fans covid status would be checked too.
He'd brought his passport along, but no checks whatsoever.

I can only assume that the latest Government announcement on the scrapping of the Covid passport meant Brighton sacked off the idea. Good I say.

With all the travel chaos and delays yesterday the game wouldn’t have started until about 4 this morning had they started to do Covid checks. My first visit to the AMEX yesterday and my fucking last. Took us about 2 fucking hours hours to reach the Park and Ride on the A23/27 junction driving just 20 odd miles from where we stayed overnight in Eastbourne. One of the shuttle buses broke down causing further chaos. Car park was full but we managed to grab the last parking spot on London Road and run for the shuttle. Then it took what seemed to be another hour going back to the ground getting there about 15 minutes before KO. And there were still hundreds queuing behind us. Left just before FT to get somewhere near the front on the 5 mile queue to get the bus back. Fuck having to go through all that every home game. Horrible experience. Hope they get relegated never to been seen again.

I’ve never had a problem on a Saturday game coming in from Lewes, it seems the reduced trains on a Sunday just added to the travel chaos.
