No one seemed keen on Marsch. Equally, Smith or the fat half of Renee and Renato. In the not too distant past, Ive seen roofers touting Pochy and even Simeone!!!! But the fact is, we are no longer the paragon of well run clubs, who at least, take their pick from whoever isnt going to a BCC. The kudos from being champions of England, ir even FA Cup winners has evaporated over the previous 18 months to 2 years. We’re absolutely nothing special anymore. In fact, we are a risk to any manager or players future career prospects. Any of them wouldhave to take a punt on us, just as we now have to take a punt on them. Tajing Dean Smith, as an example, he strikes me as being of good character, and always willing to call someone under performing out, and to take his own failings on the chin. He doesnt excite me, as The Don didnt, on arrival, but if he puts himself forward, is prepared to have the remainder of a disastrous season on his CV, then I’d shake his hand and wish him well. The addition of Shakey, with his history, could possibly be advantageous.
Get real, brothers.
 
I'll put my hand up and admit that I mentioned I wanting both Simeone (first choice) and Poch. At the end of last season I desperately wanted the club to make an offer to Mourhino that he couldn't refuse. I honestly believe he would've walked away from Roma to come back to England.

If and it's a massive IF we manage to stay up. We need to throw the proverbial kitchen sink at a top drawer manager, and the blueprint for the future needs to absolute spot on.

We don't need another "Elite Coach" we need a manager.

The more I think about it the more I'm convinced that had it not been for VAR and a toenail offside, Rodgers would've lost us the elusive FA Cup.

Sad but true I'm afraid.
It's not purely coincidental that we are on the verge of losing our Premier League status but a rather genuine reflection how we have developed over the last two to three years. We're no longer a club destined for greatness but one under threat of sinking into the abyss!
In hindsight the FA Cup victory (as delightful as it was) maybe just painted over the cracks.
 
All we can do is back Smith if he comes in it cant be any worse than it is now
He has plenty of experience nearly 600 games but not won owt, but then again we aint looking to win owt at the moment!
I think by bringing him in with Shakey as his assistant its seen as a sweetner to appease the fans with an old favourite coming back
But if he is the only one to want to take it on short term we have to take him !
