When we were on the way to winning the league in 2016, I was travelling in NZ and caught up with an old college mate who’s a Newcastle fan. Newcastle got relagated that season and I remember him saying to me that he thought that they needed to go down to reset and go again. Too many players with over inflated opinions of their own abilities. Looks like he wasn’t far wrong. Probably the reason why I’m not that bothered about Sunday.

Unfortunately, the landscape has changed significantly in 7 years (financially, more than anything perhaps) - plus we are a totally different proposition & in a different situation to Newcastle in 2016.

Ok, but haven’t NUFC been purchased by the wealthiest owners in the world?

If I knew that option was around the corner I would also be ‘not that bothered’

…,,,another option is sliding down through the leagues into decades of oblivion
 
Even If we survive do you not think Top will sack Rudkin. He’s responsible for a lot of our problems
 
Perhaps if Top allowed JR to return to his DOF duties rather than his added horse and polo roles, things would settle back down.
