4.2 Million operations cancelled

No idea, but I came quite close to being one.

Because of covid restrictions I was denied access to a cardiac specialist for 10 weeks resulting in my atrial fibrillation not being controlled such that an 'episode' (of extremely high heart rate) cased me to black out, fall and break my shoulder.

Fortunately I was at home with Mrs AFC who called the paramedics. In other circumstances a stroke could have been quite possible.

Further down the line I was told that the waiting time for the procedure I needed now had a waiting time of approximately 10 months, I took a very deep breath and had it done privately, with only partial success. Delays in getting to this point almost certainly contributed to the less than convincing outcome.

That's why the wife is now twelve months without a right hip and sits in a bloody chair because she cannot stand let alone walk

Awful Kendal.

When I broke my shoulder I had to spend more than 5 weeks on the sofa. So much pain that I was unable to lie flat, could not even do to bed. Was reduced, after the first few weeks totally laid up, to just walking round the block, just a couple of hundred yards at most.

Being laid up for 12 months is beyond comprehension, you have to get things moving. As I suggested elsewhere, try contacting a private consultant, one who works in the NHS. Sometimes such people are able to move things along as they have 'influence'.

Should cost a few hundred quid, might be worth it
