Curfew For Men

Who cares ? Really why the snowflakes get offended by this I have no idea . Top person . Brave , talented and his marathon running is frankly astonishing .
 
I agree.

But on Twitter, they are suggesting a curfew on men at night - to keep women safe.

So we may all need to "dress up" to get in the pub...

To be fair the context of that was someone in the HoL said to help men understand what it feels like to be scared to go out alone after dusk a curfew would have to be brought in . It wasn’t a real proposal .
Quite thought provoking .
 
Statistically most women who are murdered are killed in their home by their male partner.

So it would be safer for the women if the men go out.

No one is suggesting that men killing 100+ women every year is good, but get some perspective.

Our society is seriously fucked, god knows what we are going to do about it.

Gosh, another great statistic thrown into a discussion - is this based on what you see?

With about 600K deaths a year in the UK you’d think someone would have spotted this before. Even if it’s all done by lizards and Phil the Greek I’m sure we’d have noticed. Perhaps things are different in Poole.

I have quoted these figures to illustrate the different value put on lives in the uk.

Some lives are much more important than others and of course that is politically driven. That none of you have the faintest idea of what I am talking about is a clear indicator of this.

Men kill around 150 women a year, this has rather suddenly become a stick to beat men with, the social/political implications being far more important than the awful death of a young woman.

Women kill around 1500 women each year by, killing themselves. Little political capital to be had here so a few specialist charity and pressure groups apart, this is barely discussed.

The 100,000 figure is an estimate (about half the total) of the number of potentially female children killed by abortion in the UK. A number that I find astonishing and morally repugnant.

Men are rarely involved in the decision to abort, they do not really have a say though of course they may have an opinion, that they are, mostly, wise enough to keep to themselves.
 
You can quote as many figures as you like, but how about men just leave women alone? Let them go about their every day business without cat-calling, harassing, groping etc.

Look at it this way, ask any woman if she hasn't been sexually harassed at some time. You won't get many saying no.
 
But after all of the debate what can actually be done about it. Just like terrorism it’s almost impossible to anticipate the actions of individual nutters. My solution is to lock them up for ever when caught which will stop repeat offending but I suspect many would find that unacceptable in a “civilised” society

Had a sobering conversation with Mrs FG yesterday . Was taken aback how vulnerable she used to feel and had at least 3 incidents of stalking when she was in her teens /20s
 
This is becoming like racism. People, men in this case, who would not dream of harassing women are now part of the problem.

I call bullshit, if anyone tries to lay that on me they would be in line for a real mouthful.

Same as the racism issue, never gave it a thought until a year or so ago but now I will go out of my way to avoid interaction with any black people that I don't already know.
