Been trying to work this inability out for a while now, like most others l guess.
Heres a few thoughts that maybe factors in this farcical situation.
Ward looked as bad as Kasper on Saturday. I was thinking this is possibly a hangover, our defence are so used to Kasper not controlling the area, so are not trusting Ward in the say way, yet. The goalkeeper has to control the box and his defence.
Also, we fill our 6 yard box with player, 8 mostly, and no one as a specific job, so no one as any responsibility. This also leads to the opposite having men spare on the edge of the box. I think we get in each others way, then tend to leave it for someone else. This was obvious on Saturday, we don't leave anyone up front either which would make them move two of theirs back as cover, plus others from the oppo being more cautious of a break than attacking options.
I thinks its the numbers game that needs addressing ! Not saying I've got the answer but I'm feeling its this way, what do you think ?
