Egg Chasers

What happened to that marvellous new stadium they had planned a few years ago? The artist impression looked great on the front page of the Leicester Mercury. But all they have done is that ugly monstrosity of a new stand and that useless looking thing that tails off alarmingly down one end of it on Aylestone Road. And still that fire hazard wooden Crumlin stand!

The new hotel is very impressive, went by today. The new car park and stand are in the pipeline.
As the allegations are historic and concern no one there now, any sanction is likely to be a fine.
On the Saracens issue, as knowing participants in the scam why did they get off free?

The new hotel will come in handy next season for fans of visiting championship (if that's what they're second division is called) clubs.

Mythology abounds. They were the first Leicester club beating us by a few years.
And I know several Tigers fans, all of whom want us to win. It is daft to think you have to be one or the other.
We live in a city which punches well over its weight in sport and to confine yourself to a binary choice is futile. I took to rugby rather late in life having been turned off it by school memories (being regularly flattened) but whilst not understanding all the arcane rules have now been enjoying it for several years. It does not reduce my love for association one bit.
In fact it appeals because it is so different from our code.
It was inevitable that when the ball was invented there would be so many ways of inventing games in which it would be featured.
They are not better or worse but different...

Still ok to feel nothing, not even the tiniest bit of affinity or liking for them ,though?
Totally irrelevant and uninteresting entity to me.
Nothing to do with binary choices.

Of course it is fine to reject that particular code if that is your choice.
Simply allow for others to enjoy both with out hinting that either is a dimiution of the other....

For me it’s not so much the team ... more about their arrogant pompous fan base that for years have derided our football club and fans.
Plus their past close connections with the police which was particularly evident on matchdays ... when we play parking restrictions everywhere. When they play ... park where you like chaps.
And then selling their soul to the Nottingham Building Society and having that emblazoned over their stand ... as soon as it was removed their curse seems to have been lifted.

Pompous? don't see anyone on their site describing us as 'bladder chasers' or similar. If their is any bias towards them on parking that is the police to blame, and a poor excuse to slag the Tigers, as is advertising; Leicester firms have just as much chance as others to support their local sides, they failed to do so... and they didn't 'sell their soul' just a stand identity.
All sounds like an attitude looking for justification...

I’ve racked my brain and honestly can’t think of or remember one single person I’ve ever been football with or known from the football who has ever really even mentioned the Rugby lot .Even when pubs have been shared after home games, they just don’t have any relevance as far as I’ve ever seen, they just happen to be nearby geographically.

Their site? They have a site and you look at it! Wtf for?

I grew up within a couple of hundred yards of their ground and none of us would venture in there ... supported by posh people from the outskirts who looked down on us. Viewed football supporters as the lowest of the low. Old pals act over parking because half the team was made up of the police force.

And ... Just stand identity? That proves they just don’t get civic pride in their own city - if they did they’d have swerved away from any connection to that place up the road.

Their site? It's called being informed. Try it, it may rid you of some of your outdated and comical views...
PS half the team made up of police? They are professional now so which century are you in?

What’s outdated and comical about having an opinion on a certain sporting team ?
Do you go on Forest, Cov,Derby sites to get informed?
Not many City fans have any time for Rugby and a lot actually dislike Leicester Tigers ( most that I know)
It’s not rational it’s just how it is, you are in a tiny minority

Last time I saw them I went to one of the European games at our football ground, a so called neutral venue. I was intrigued to see how it was there for a rugger match.

There was an older chap a few seats down from me with a small flag on a shortish pole across his lap.

Leicester Tigers we’re playing well and won I think and scored a few tries. At one point after a try was scored I commented to the chap that he should be waving his flag in celebration. He scowled at me and said nothing just chuntered to his mate about me.

I haven’t bothered with them since.

Nobody is claiming rugby is bigger, more popular or better than association now (it was once).
And all this selling it's soul stuff! We support a team sold by an American millionaire to a Thai property company as part of its
marketing department. A department which would not base decisions on the chuntering of a grumpy old man..
Please have the last word. This has gone past a joke...:)

I’ve been to a few games of rugby up the road, I like the politeness of it but there is still a lot of snobbish superiority which I don’t like and I’m surprised you can turn a blind eye to it Oadlad
