Car bomb outside Liverpool hospital

Obviously the details are still emerging, but it sounds like a taxi driver locked a suicide bomber in his cab and escaped before the car exploded. If true, that taxi driver may have saved many lives today.

I wonder who would have wanted to commit this act, at this time, on this day?

I wonder.

Yes, the date and the time are clearly no coincidence. Three arrests already suggests these individuals were perhaps 'already known' to the security services.

Edited to add: it sounds like the taxi was heading to Liverpool Cathedral, where a remembrance ceremony was taking place. However, the driver got suspicious of the passenger, parked the car away from the crowds, then locked the suicide bomber in and legged it.

I used to detest the IRA growing up, but at least they tried to phone a warning not like these scumbags.

Trouble is there are so many mentally ill people on the street, it's been going on since 1988,they get turfed out for the day, beg you for fags, I had it in Clacton when I lived there in late 80's.

Small world Oxon - had some great holidays when very small at Clacton, stayed at the Marmora on Penfold Road, now an old folks home.

No way!! We went first time would be about '71and last 1978... the Landlady's name was Mrs King. Her husband had an Opel which was continental flair indeed back then.

It would've had the Butlins camp when you use to visit, it had sadly closed down by the time I got there, and they built a Safe ways store on the old Clacton Town football ground in Old Road.

It's a really nice stretch of beach apart from the views of the wind farm thing.
This thread as gone off a bit of a tangent somewhat.
That pub opposite the Wetherspoons is a bit lively and you can score easily enough and have a game of pool.

The IRA was an organisation, this bloke was one of a growing number of freelance individuals security services, a nightmare for the .
security services.
Interestingly, Liverpool Cathedral says they are used to asylum seekers pretending to convert to Jesus to advance their claims.
The nice couple who gave him shelter, presumably as a link to the cathedral, were in fact, hiding an illegal immigrant.

Yeah the dopey twats that helped him
“He was such a lovely man”

Only the English can produce such blindness to the evils of the world, we have a very special breed of ‘do-gooder’.

If we had a properly functioning immigration system 'do gooders 'as you patronisingly term them would not be needed.

A sweet old couple are fucking morons. I bet they don't wish they were brought up like you...
And why would any refugee want to live in your society?

"This is a broken country under clueless Boris, we got starving kids in this day of age, disgusting, dunno who votes for them".

I can remember the days when parents were responsible for their children not the Prime Ministers
