Bob Dylan, Manchester Free Trade, 1966 (the 'Judas' gig)
Sex Pistols at the Manchester Lesser Free Trade Hall, 1976 (future members of the Smiths, Buzzcocks, New Order present...& Mick Hucknall)
The last Style Council gig at the Royal Albert Hall, 1989 (a full house set, no oldie tracks - crowd goes irate)

Any others?

The Rain at The Charlotte, though I know someone who was in the crowd of around 5 people; or so he says.

I was at that Style Council gig - happy memories of Jam cavemen absolutely losing their shit as the next four to the floor tune kicked in. I'd say it was a 50/50 split, half got it and loved it, half thought it was shit. You could clearly hear booing at the end, happy days.

The Swinging Everitts at Shilton Albion Club 1978. Those who were there will remember it, believe me.

I never did see anyone at the Charlotte who went on to become big. There was one of their contracts in the bar though of one gig where The Bluetones supported Kula Shaker or Divine Comedy, someone like that.
